Maybe everyone knows about this, but Kabar has clearanced the Machaxe, and since they are forum supporters, I can share it right?
I just picked one up. Can't wait to get it!
 
I didn't know about it until it came up in a previous thread. I, too, was unable to resist the power of a good sale. That and the thought that it might be bloody difficult to pick up a 4 in a year. Thankfully they aren't holding the same deal on the 5 as well, so I don't have to choose. That would be cruel.
 
When it comes in, let us know if there's a lanyard hole. I don't see one in the pics and I would definitely want that (and I don't have a way to drill one myself).

I think that's just a result of them editing out the background.

Weird that there isn't a lanyard hole, I didn't notice that. They do have the smooth coating, so they are probably kinda old huh?
 
Mine has a lanyard hole and the new logo. I picked it up after they went on clearance.
 
i found a site that had them for $2. bought them all. sorry.
 
I bought 2 of each after finding out about the 4,5 and 15 the 5's are both roll stamped with the smooth coating (I've never actually seen one with the etched logo and new coating) the 4 and 15 both were etched with the rough coating. all of them have lanyard holes.
 
I haven't received mine yet. Kabar said shipping time would be 2 weeks.

Maybe they are raiding Ethans basement for inventory ;-)

That sucks man, I found a shack under a bridge where a guy was selling them for hugs. My arms are sore, and I'm a bit itchy, but now I've got almost enough BK4s.
 
I don't know how it happened. Just now, I was able to order one from the website.
I've been checking constantly...and out of nowhere, the magical words "Add To Cart" appeared.

Just...just...ewwwww. Not gonna go there. Incidentally, despite the huge wait time quoted by the website, mine is going to be here Thursday for a total wait time of about 7 days. It is always nice when things arrive in a timely manner, perhaps they had the Ninja Elves raiding Ethan's basement instead of the slow crew.
 
Had a friend express interest in buying my first Machax off of me if I was wanting to sell, since I wasn't planning on it I felt a little bad that I wouldn't be selling him one. Well, I now have one en route that I'll offer to sell to him at cost, see if he takes me up on that.

I went ahead and got both the clearance BK3 and BK4 (had to get that free shipping). Great prices and, if my luck holds, me caving and buying a 4 should cause the RBK to drop tomorrow. ;)

I've noticed something about the BK4 bundle - the blade is definitely the older, stamped, smooth coating version and the box is labeled "Promo" ...

but the white blade cover is labeled 'BK9' and the dangler sheath is the new style with the mollie straps. And the sheath fits my 9 perfectly, better than the 4. In fact, ~.75" of the 4's edge protrudes.

The 4 still feels/looks a bit odd to me. I'll go out and beat up on the underbrush for awhile with both of them and see which begins to speak to me.
