Becker Bk4 sale

The 4 still feels/looks a bit odd to me. I'll go out and beat up on the underbrush for awhile with both of them and see which begins to speak to me.

The first time I held one I didn't like it. When they got down to $65 I bought one just to see if it would grow on me. I figured there must be a reason some folks liked it so much so I set out to find it. I spent some time with it and I grew to like it, so much so that I bought a spare.

Thanks everyone for buying then all up. I now expect the RBK to launch posthaste.

It was a good deal, but they can be had for $10 more (with free shipping) from other places if you're still set on getting one. And I'll admit, even though I'm quite happy with my bk9, the deals on the 4 and 5 are tempting me :).

Found a used one last week on the bay for 42.50 shipped. It arrived monday like new in the box. I now have 3.

Lanyard holes are extra, like jimping.

Geez, every time I read this thread, I feel the need to wash out my brain.....The Becker fairy arrived today, and mine came exactly the same as TravisH showed, right down to the packaging. I have to say I really like that smooth coating vs. the rough one on the 10 I got early this year. I have never had anywhere near as much trouble keeping my tan 9 clean, so it looks like the 10 is going on the shelf while the 4 gets some use. It just feels so light and....choppy. Surprisingly good at whittling, too, for such a large blade. Happiness.

I ordered a couple a few days ago; had a terrible time attempting to order via their website. Turns out that my billing address on the credit card didn't exactly match what I was entering; something silly like a comma missing or added or some such thing - I kid you not!

Turns out it was all for the good as I left a VM and next morning got a phone call from a very nice lady who admitted that the website billing verification controls may be set a tad tight.

She was very nice, in case I didn't already mention that, and took my order for a pair of 4s and a 3. I don't have a smooth finish 4 and was looking forward to having a user and a keeper in that iteration. Today I get a dreaded email from KaBar saying that when I ordered two they thought they had two but I am only getting one smooth finish BK4. However, they did offer to send me a current version 4 at the promo price - which I thought demonstrated class and compassion. I would have been happy with just a ball cap or maybe an IOU heads-up the next time they run a BK&T special. They are good folk at KaBar.

$50 before shipping

Shipping was $8 for me. Which made the whole deal about the same price as buying the regular 4. Figured I'd wait. My 9 still hasn't gotten any usage. Hard to use one living in an apartment in the city.

I just got it in the mail 20 minutes ago. It is absolutely a piece of art. The smooth coat accentuates the features. Very pleased with my luck in getting one of these. I stripped my other 4...This one will not have such a fate.
Mr. Becker designed one helluva blade.

I used my pink Machax to clear some limbs yesterday. I'm thinking of naming it "Beatrice."

That's a good solid name. I call mine "Twyla". Named it after a waitress at Betty's with a broken arm.

...... Hard to use one living in an apartment in the city.

Think imaginatively. Go down to the dumpsters and look for some pallets or roadkill furniture. Start chopping. Just gotta watch for springs and bolts. If anybody asks, just say "Some fool filled the dumpster with furniture and I'm making it fit better."
