Who owns these mythical knives? I've been searching for these suckers high and low and they are ridiculously elusive.

E bay. seen em' there recently. don't really see what the big deal is. get the regular ones and duracoat them.

It's so I can build the collection piece, you know, like us getting the 77s.
yeah, I was thinking it wrong. E bay man the BK 9 in tan, was $150 ish there recently. gone now, but there will be another.

You might well find them via a WTB thread here.
I've found Beckers all sorts of interesting ways.
Someone saw a WTB and alerted me to a little knife shop in NC.
I called and found some cool stuff that had simply lingered on a shelf.

I know about the 71 being the desert colored 7 with a different handle but whats the 91? Same as a normal 9 I assume but with desert colors? How come they are not in the blade database?

Not in the database cause Bladite doesn't own them yet and doesn't want us to know they exist until after he owns them all.

not in the database per se because they're just a can of krylon away from being normal models. even the handles are just painted grivory. the paint will even come off.

and really, i hates them. i think they are estoopido :) poopy head!

they probably rare because the first thing any smart person did was paint them black :)

So the database sounds a little data-biased. If they exist, they should be up there, even if you dont have em, or like em lol.

they are referenced as variation: desert. have been always.

other than color, there is no difference in specs as far as i know.

Yeah, and to be honest, its not really the color Ethan wanted. On the first time seeing them in all their complete glory, the statement, "What the hell is this?" was used. The color is more pink than tan, but other than the paint, like the esteemed Bladite said, specs are pretty much the same.
.
Camillus blades were thicker overall than the Kabars, but I think the thinner Kabars are just tougher, but the handles are something else. I want some of those Camillus 71/91 handles.

I think the BK9HH was a better thought than the new paint. Even though it was just a sharpened swedge and easy enough to do, I liked it better.

the handles are just painted too. nothing special there. in fact, it scrapes off super easy. see my standard brute pictures. my "user" brute has desert handles on it. because someone though they were ugly personified, so, i got them :)

if you want tan handles, the micarta is the way to go. perhaps wood :) perhaps... osage orange. which are now adoring my BK10er

Camillus Becker BK91 Combat Bowie (Desert Series)
Camillus Becker BK101 (Desert Series)

I like my two desert series knives. My safe queens.:D I agree the tan color blades are just OK, but I do like the desert micarta handles.

I have the 71

. However it makes me want to get the BK101 and the BK91. I have a Camillus made BK77 Extreme and the Ka-bar made BK77. I'd be willing to part with one of my BK77s for a BK101. I love me some BK10s...
