Becker BK71 and BK91

I have the 71

. However it makes me want to get the BK101 and the BK91. I have a Camillus made BK77 Extreme and the Ka-bar made BK77. I'd be willing to part with one of my BK77s for a BK101. I love me some BK10s...

Funny part is if I had your BK71 (Desert Series) I would have the complete Camillus Becker Desert Series Set of three. I bet very few have all three. Fact, very few even have any. My two are all NIB never seeing the light of day in my safe.

What is the difference beteen the Camillus BK77 vs KaBar BK77? When I compare the BK2 made by both sizes are quite different.

Here's a pic of my bk7 desert that I sold,,, it was cool, but really in the end nothing special so off it went while many other beckers remained home!

Thank you all for torturing me on the Monday following my team's utter lack of anything resembling pride.

I heard Eli Manning has all of the desert Beckers. :p

Not true. That was included in his original contract with the chargers. But once his daddy pulled the strings and he went to new York, he lost the desert Becker clause

a little tan paint, and you could have a BK21 or BK*1 of anything you like. cheap tan paint at that ;)

The Camillus BK7 Extreme has the Camillus Micarta which is more squared. The Ka-Bar version is the same Camillus blanks but with the Ka-bar heat treat and the Ka-bar Micarta. I personally think the KaBar feels more durable, sharper and more comfortable in the hand. The Camillus came with the Special Ops sheath which I don't think fits it very well. Bladite can correct me if I'm wrong. I'll have a pic here to compare all the BK7s I have.

The SpecOps sheath works fine with the Camillus, you just need to do the boiling water trick. DO NOT use a toaster, I remember someone doing so and it resulted in them needed a new insert and a new toaster. Aesthetically, the Camillus micarta > KA-BAR, however functionally the Camillus micarta < KA-BAR micarta. The KA-BAR blade however is beautiful, I'm not a fan of the Cam's stonewashed look.

Arkanian, I completely agree with you about the micarta. Ka-bar is more functional and Camillus micarta is much more aesthetically pleasing. The Ka-bar's blade is much nicer as well. I'm a fan of the polished blade. How do I do the boiling water trick?

Find a pot or pan wide enough to accommodate the liner, get the water boiling and drop the liner in for 10-15 seconds. When you take it out (I suggest using tongs because that sucker is going to be hot!), the liner will be malleable for a second or two and will begin to harden shortly after, so you can put the blade in and flatten the liner onto the blade to make a custom fit.

Here are my BK7's, From the top, Stock BK7, My user and modded BK7 stripped and polished, BK77 Kabar Version, BK77 Camillus version, BK71 Camillus Desert series.

AfghanWarrior, Here are the differences between the Camillus version and the Ka-Bar version. I'm partial to the Ka-bar version. Its just gorgeous. Thats why I have one for a safe queen and the other as a user. :D

Both are great blades. By the way Arkanian, the boiling pot of water worked like a charm. THANKS!

yes sir you did!! great to see her being put to use!!
Oh hell yeah, You're a real good dude, and that is not the beer talking. The first time I took it out to use it I loaned it to my Bro and he was prying up some pitchwood, I thought he was gonna break the tip off it.

I think I'm gonna give him a BK 2.

RaizoT,

Wow! those are some great pics. You are quite the BK7 collector. Dumb question......of the 5 that you own how would you rate them in order (not of quality) but in the ones that you just like?
