Becker BK71 and BK91

BK7s.jpg

Here are my BK7's, From the top, Stock BK7, My user and modded BK7 stripped and polished, BK77 Kabar Version, BK77 Camillus version, BK71 Camillus Desert series.

AfghanWarrior, Here are the differences between the Camillus version and the Ka-Bar version. I'm partial to the Ka-bar version. Its just gorgeous. Thats why I have one for a safe queen and the other as a user. :D

Both are great blades. By the way Arkanian, the boiling pot of water worked like a charm. THANKS!

damn.

You just need to find some Camillus and Ka-Bar scalloped governments, and I think you'd pretty much be squared away.

I think RaizoT should send both Moose and Paws a very, very nice bribe.

Duracoat and Micarta sounds best to me.....The desert series was one of Cammillus' dumber ideas......NOT that I object to a "desert" coloration, it is just that I HATE 'titty" pink on anything other than mammaries.......I had a conniption over the color.....A more neutral shade will work best for camo .......I spent the best part of an hour trying to educate, convince maybe?, the then Prez of Cammillus that light pink with tan tints did not a subdued color make.......For the record ANY NEUTRAL color is best......by that I mean the VALUE of the color is more important than the COLOR........A dead neutral pink is less likely to catch the eye tan a denser brown or green......

Anyway, if I felt a real need and money was no particular concern and I just had to have a "desert" Becker I would send a less valuable stripped blade to Robar for a new coat or somebody who does a decent Duracoat job..........I would then bide my time for a "collectors" Cam blade........

ALL Best.....

RaizoT,

Wow! those are some great pics. You are quite the BK7 collector. Dumb question......of the 5 that you own how would you rate them in order (not of quality) but in the ones that you just like?

1. Kabar BK77. Its gorgeous and fun to fondle. Worth every penny
2. Kabar modded BK7. It took alot of elbow grease and sand paper from 360-3000 grit.
3. Cammillus BK77. Just for aesthetics
4. Cammillus BK71 because its different
5. Kabar BK7. Obviously i like stripped blades so I modded it.

Way to remind me. :( I dont like serrations but now that you've mentioned I'm missing one I will eventually have to get it now

take a BK77 and cut it down to a BK10 :)

use the scrap to make a necker :D

Had a couple. The blade seemed very... bright.. Disappointed that the grip tan scraped off easily - the grips looked all right if they had been actually molded in that color. I tried swapping the grips between a BK9 and BK91 to see if it improved the appearances... nope. Not really.

I still thought they looked better than the digicamo ones that Camillus brought to Blade right before the agonal gasp.
