Becker Brute VS Kershaw Outcast.

Quick note:

Plus: the chopper cuts like blazes - chopped arm thick limbs easily. Design is perfect - light fast and easy on the hand.

Minus: it busted on me a few days ago. Awaiting comments from Kai Cutlery (Europe).

Will try to keep posted after reply from Kershaw and possibly Ken.

What were you doing that it broke? Where did it break? You can't just post something like that without an explanation.

I have both the Brute and the outcast. Without gettting long winded, I would agree that they are designed for different uses. The brute works well for chopping firewood, batonning, hammering in tent pegs, etc., whereas the outcast is a better "machete" type knife. I love them both. I have used the hell out of both of them, and haven't experienced any chipping of the blade (on the outcast D2) even after thinning the edge down a little bit. I have chipped the blade on the Brute (more of folded a piece of the edge over) smacking a rock, but neither knife has suffered any real damage in wood.
