Pressure like you're shaving is a pretty good description for the pressure to use imho. Same with the stropping afterward.
On natuaral stones I tend to press a little bit harder.... but that's probably not needed too.
Btw I have no issues with the completely covered diamond stones clogging up, but I use a little water and a drop of dishwashingnsoap on them when sharpening.

I have long had an idea for a system based on my 8 x 3 x 3/8 "stones." I have four in various grits. It is a stupid simple idea if it works. I guess I need to get it made, post it up, and see what y'all think of it.
