Becker Fall Gathering 2013 - Roll Call Thread !!!

I wanted too go too the spring gathering but some health issues prevented it, and though things are getting better in that area still looks like a no go. oh well maybe next time!
 
I'll be showing up Thursday AM, staying until Monday AM. I'm bringing Terrio with me. I'll be in a hammock, but I've also got a tarp and thermarest. Flexible I guess.
 
you'll need to be flexible if you're sharing a hammock with Terrio - he's kinda tall.
 
Better be a strong hammock if we're gonna share... I'm kinda fat, too :p
 
Christine and I (and Oz and Zack) will be down on Friday. Sleeping in our truck at the previous location - if that's ok.

Dammit Trade, personal double-tap invite from Ethan - you gotta come!

Thorny, hop yourself up on percocets and make it down (up). Would love to see you again!

Thank you for that Ethan, and I know they would enjoy it as much as we do, but we've got kind of a traditional spot and my son's buddy has limited leave. Timing is everything as they say. We may buzz over there before the gathering for a day or so for a camp on the hill and a little visit, if you don't mind though.

Well fellas, I just found out from my wife last night that these dates fall on a yearly family tradition that Ive had since I was a kid. I have a Aunt that is a nun. (before the jokes start, im being serious) Every year she rents the same cabin on 50 acres and a lake way out in the middle of nowhere, and me, and all of my cousins who all live in different states get together drink beer, hunt, fish, the whole nine yards. the last two nights of the trip the whole extended family shows up and have great meals and catch up. been doing it every year that I can remember. My Aunt is getting older and had a couple of boughts with cancer, I sure hope its not her last one, but if it is Id never forgive myself if I missed it. Sorry guys, but it doesnt look like I will be able to attend this gathering. But, I will send plenty of goodies from the shop with Murph.
 
It doesn't look like I will be making it either. Grandma's health is really bad, we have half expected her to already have passed to be honest. As such an 8-10 hour drive with spotty cell phone coverage wouldn't work well for if something does happen.

Todd - you'll be missed, but family comes first - enjoy the visit with them!
 
It's where a bunch of beckerheads and other like minded folks get together for a few days of grub, guns, guzzling, garrulousness, and gnives -- at Ethan's place.
 
THE Ethan Becker. Renowned knife designer, world class chef, kingmaker. Basically we just goof off and have a great time. Lots of knives, booze, and shenanigans. And we eat so well there are five star restaurants that envy our cuisine.
 
well sweet chicken... every time we've had this its been in october and would fall on my sons b-day or something else would pop up... but as of now I can't think of anything coming up in that time warp

I'd love to go and would request a tentative spot for a 1 man tent I will have a more firm answer in about a week.....

it would be great to finally meet about half you guys...!!!! :p

so my friend has confirmation that he will be joining me
barring any unforeseen accidents/issues we will both be there
with a tent. Definitely getting excited now

kinda bummed so many folks cant make it, but life's a beach sometime and i understand
