Ain't no thang. If I had that lamp, I'd be tempted to polish it, and maybe would, but I dig the old patina'd look as well.

I had planned on polishing it up and making sure it was safe and I like to get them working ... even though I won't use them unless needed ... but a lot has been on the back burner so it's waiting a good polish ...

heck maybe a genie will pop out and grant me a bottle of Pappy !!!

you gonna share that Pappy?

if a genie pops out of one of my lamps and brings me a bottle of Pappy ... I'll set up a meet somewhere in a middle area and have a good bonfire to share it !!!

Never had any Pappy. Is it good? Pappy cigars are freaking awesome though:

I think you're right. Pappy, and George Dickel, I'm thinking.

I got to have a couple glasses some years back at a fund raiser in Nashville ... I probably stuck out like a sore thumb ... but wealthy folks like to show they are ... so when offered I sure didn't say no ...

I would not pay what it costs even if I were one of those wealthy folks ... but it was a pretty tasty treat.

Weller Special Reserve and Old Weller Antique 107 are said to be made from the same recipe and even the same mash ... but are not aged nearly as long ... I've not tried either ...

and Maker's Mark has a similar flavor ... but still quite different ... but my simple country boy blood doesn't seem to mind Maker's.

you should try basil hayden's

I have tried it ... it isn't bad at all ... I usually grab Maker's or Woodford Reserve they are both usually easy to find most places ... I've tried some others that are always on "best bourbon" lists some I would probably buy if available nearby.

I got a bottle of maker's 46 for X-mas last year -- haven't even cracked the seal yet.
still working on the bottle of 4 roses small batch I was gifted 3-4 years back.
