I had a bottle of 46 took it to a party last New Years ... someone said it was good ... I had someone give me a bottle of Four Roses ... my girlfriend got me to try it ... she liked it ... It wasn't bad ... but I like what I like I guess.

I haven't done anything today, haha. My lazy butt has pretty much been been sitting in front of the computer all day. Cold and rainy out, so, wth. I did mess around a bit with the Optimus 99 stove gifted to me by my father in law awhile back. Had the wife pick up some white gas when she went to town today. Gonna light her up tomorrow for the hell of it. Pop has given me some cool stoves. The Optimus 99:

Primus 71:

And a Coleman Peak 1 Model 576:

Spent most of the day helping a buddy process the buck he tagged last weekend -- then froze.
he took it out of the freezer thursday night and put the quarters in a cooler in his garage.
it was still pretty frozen when he got to my place this morning.

used my 15 to debone it and cube up the parts that didn't get left as roasts.

Well, the Optimus 99 works well. I have the kitchen smelling like camp fuel, haha. The wife will love that when she gets home. :D

It was leaking around the valve when I first lit it up, after priming. Per the instructions, I used the key to give the valve a quarter turn to stop it from leaking. Worked like a charm.

The wife bought an antique copper Coleman funnel for me today, as part of my birthday. A lady I talked to at the antique store today, her husband, it seems, collects Coleman lanterns, and has 200 of them. He's wanting to thin the heard a bit, so she took my name and number for him to get a hold of me. I was telling her I'd love to get a lantern made the same month and year as I was born. She's gunna see what she can do. On a lighter note, the whiskey sure is kicking in tonight, haha.

Did they make lanterns way back then? :D

Ha ha. :D

I saw a Coleman lantern, well, actually, a lamp manufactured in May of 1919 at the antique store today. I could tell the shade wasn't original, and it didn't have the pump for $135. I saw another that didn't have a shade, but had the pump for $125.

I decided to go a different route for my birthday. The wife ordered me a brand new Coleman duel fuel lantern, a case for it, the fuel filler, that screws onto the white gas can, and a Coleman reflector shield. I decided to go this route, because, although white gas runs cleaner, unleaded gas is much cheaper. Supposedly, the lantern runs for 7-8 hours on high, on one tank full. A gallon of white gas at wally is around $10 per gallon, compared to unleaded, which around here right now, is around $2.50 per gallon. Nice to have options.
