Burying my Dad in the morning. It's a mixed bag. I hate that he's gone but dementia is a terrible thing and he wouldn't have wanted to live any longer with it than he did.

Smoke and prayers appreciated.

Hug your people, people.
So sorry man, prayers headed your way.

Sorry to hear that Dunk. Dementia is an ugly disease. Smoke sent your way.

DunkEm -- sincere condolences, as I'm at the beginning of the journey you just finished. :(

My dad was diagnosed with "moderate vascular dementia" a few months back -- which means he's had it for several years and has hit a turning point.
at this point, he can tell he's losing it but refuses to accept help or admit he's depressed.

Take courage 1066vik, we who have been through this are with you in spirit.
I am sorry to hear of it DunkEm.

Sorry to hear that man.

On a much lighter note, just got back from antiquing again. Didn't get anything.

Unfortunately, I’m in the same boat. My father was diagnosed with dementia and early onset Alzheimer’s about a month and a half ago. It hasn’t been easy.

Dang man, so sorry dude. Seems to be rampant. My wife's mother had Alzheimers for 16 years before she passed a few years ago. I never did know her without it.

I appreciate the sentiments, Dubz. Sometimes he doesn’t recognize his wife and other times he thinks he sees my dead grandmother. Couple this with my FIL being in and out of the hospital a dozen times since June; not easy.

Wanna watch it, but it’s like 3 1/2 hours long. Not sure if I can stay awake that long lol.
Watched it last night. It was good, not great. The Book was awesome, the movie wasn’t. Not in league with Goodfellas, Casino, or even Heat. The de-aging technology is impressive but kinda funny. Sometimes it seemed to blink on and off around their eyes. Also, even though they looked younger they still had the movement, posture, and gait of old men. This was very apparent in a De Niro scene where he walks over rocks to ditch a gun in water. Though younger looking, he was moving like a feeble old man.

I tried to light up the shed I call "the forge", but returned them new fangled LED lights to the store. They would not let me hear my radio without static, even with an add on rf filter. I went ahead and got another 4' fluorescent fixture. I can rebuild those with good replacement parts at least. Ballasts, tombstones and bulbs....that's all there is.
Of course, sockets and bulbs never went out of style! o_O
