RB, I really like the looks of that Rat II. Looks like a good no-nonsense EDC.

Just had some fun in the garden. Chopping in some pieces of firewood that was stored. Breaking a few dead branches. Making some fuzz sticks. Setting some wood on fire.
Just because I felt like doing so. Ah. I feel so much better now, and so do my 14 and 16. They had fun :-)

I really like the looks of that RAT-2 also. Need to order one of those up soon.

in other news I have no dining table anymore nor a bed and soon may be pulling up a piece of carpet to sit on.. wife's gone on a selling spree on cl.... on the flip side I have a drawer full of money... :D

I like the looks of the Rat II as well. what do yall think of AUS-8?

can't say i have much experience with it. From what i've read seems to be sort of an entry level stainless similar to the "18Crwhatevertheheck" steel that kershaw is throwing on it's lower level production folders.

I have come to like VG-10 a lot for folders.

By comparison, I haven't been able to get AUS-8 quite as sharp as VG-10 and the edge doesn't last quite as long. But honestly it's perfectly serviceable for EDC use.

I've read it's similar to the 18Cromov... in the Spyderco Persistence (same as Kershaw?) that I've carried quite a bit in the past. Design and edge geometry are more important I think.

Morning collective sirs.

Galeocerdoshark - sounds like fun, I am looking forward to doing the same friday evening. Hoping to burn some wood friday night in the fire pit. It is supposed to be 40 degrees, which is about half of what it normally is... seems like the right time to sacrifice some wood to the beer gods.

Battle Creek Knives - Isn't it nice to get rid of stuff, I did the same thing last year and we ended up getting rid of about 75% of what we had.. very liberating.

you bet, and completely amazed what has been selling on CL in a heart beat... of course there's really not a lot of supply in tulsa as its still a fairly small metro area...

** as I type this I'm literally sitting on the floor, my recliner is out in the garage waiting for the new owner to pick it up.. :(

ETA: you're probably wondering what I'm doing at home and not throwing sparks... packing, packing, and packing.... work next week and have to pack through the weekend to make this happen by next friday....

hopeful to be able to at least HT my last batch here before I move.. that way If I can't hook up 220v until later then at least i'll have a batch to be able to finish grind..

**ETA: you're probably also wondering why I continue to edit this post, well you see I don't want to be labeled as a post whore so I'm limiting my post count:D

I'm just starting that process. I've listed a ton of stuff that at one point I thought was needed, and we hardly used any of it. The little bits of extra cash from each item sure to add up!

I get a lot of ludicrous trade offers, but I'm learning to weed those out and make counter-offers that get them to fork over cash. :)

it adds up crazy quick too !!! and I get paid for others helping me move :D speaking of trade offers, I got one last night I'm considering for my old log splitter... maybe a .223 plus a .22 or a 308 and a .22.... easier to cart off guns then a log splitter :)

Uh oh.
