My son discovered this for us last fall. I'm amazed he sacrificed any, since we only really have that kind of food for camping. I suppose the excess oil in it is what lights up.

Took some more Rat II pics, sorry WWood I didn't see your request for a comparison pic w/ the Cryo til just now. Next time I break out the real camera I will snap one for ya!

They put the same size thumb studs on the Rat II that are on the Rat I which keeps deployment easy

In hand comparison:

Rat I:

Rat II:

Only downside is that the Rat I is WAY more comfortable in hand due to larger size, Rat II is a bit cramped if you have larger hands. Worth it though for how much easier it carries and how much less scary it looks than the Rat I when you whip it out in front of people who don't like knives.

Nice RB I like it.

While your taking photos with the Cryo, do you happen to have a Mini Grip or a Delica to compare?

If it's not too much trouble :)

I have both! I'll do those pics either tonight or tomorrow.

yeah fritos are much better, then again so is an orange :)

but in reality I don't think anyone of us here would find ourselves using a food source to jump start survival 101..

ETA: RatII appears to be right up my alley, looks comfy too..

Yes I hope nobody starts burning their food for emergency fire. I have to believe there's something you could use instead.

Might as well start burning your wool blankets and down jacket, you know, so you can keep warm with the fire

Yeah, I couldn't imagine using food to make fire with, but I had never thought of burning doritos before. I guess fire is very different for my area of the country compared to the north east and west.. You can practically spit on the ground and make a fire here. We are so perpetually dry, I have never had a problem making a fire. There is a ton of flint everywhere and miles of dry grass... Making water out of doritos would be a better trick for me :)

There was a Remington 700 5R milspec in my LGS today. Curse not having the scratch to buy it instantly. REALLY wanted to walk out the door with that one. Sigh. Need to come up with the money to get a whole batch of blades heat treated too, so's I can complete them and maybe sell a few. Tomorrow marks the end of my first full year of being orange here on BF as well.

Condor T and T Pouch

just saying. "the river store"

check it out! :)

What in the world is a T and T pouch? I know I don't need one but I am curious.

I'm actually waiting for the new pouch/purse/murse/whatever to be released. I am going to be using it for work stuff mostly but it should be perfect for it!

i told you how to find it; find it! :)

good thought tonite: i have a few big pieces of Ditra - i think i could make a nice tablet sleeve with that stuff. just need an edge layer, and a zipper.

That is a DURN good price (I'm assuming). I saw the maxpedition one at the local brick and mortar store and it was like 35 I think. I have no use for one unfortunately. Although I'm guessing you could build up a nice FAK using one of those.

Hate to complain about the rain, but it's gonna put a damper on my weekend. Going to start gutting the kitchen Saturday. Suck bringing home wet materials. It can be done though.
