Becker knife interest!

I have a Swamp Rat and Busse that sit in my knife box. My Becker BK9 is just soooooo much more fun to play with, modify, and chop with! The balance is perfect and the optional micarta grips are amazing. Even my wife likes holding it..... the knife that is :)

Zookie, welcome.
I'm just kidding about being such a tactical badass. I seldom actually wear that gas mask.

The 2 and 7 are an awesome combo. The 2 and the 9? Even better, but I'm partial.
As for mods, lots of folks strip 'em so they have to wipe down and/or oil their knives on a regular basis. :D
With the stock grivory scales, you can tape, stipple, cover, sand blast, you name it.
Some folks have ground their Beckers into "It used to be a Becker but now..." shapes.
Micarta scales are available for the knives for an extra cost. These are excellent scales made by Ka-Bar.

On the secondary market, however, there are all sorts of custom scales, from wood to G10 to glow-in-the-dark stuff.

I hope you get a Becker, try it out, and hang around for the fun. And the tactical badassness.

Ssssssshhhhhh. Don't blow my cover, or I'll infract your ass. :p

Damn, I was about to get the bk7 but now you have me thinking about the 9! haha. Chances are ill probably get them all. I figured the bk7 was a great all around knife, the bk9 looks like it'd be good for heavy duty chopping tasks, and with that extra 2 inches it will make battoning though wood that much easier than the bk7.

Outstanding first post. Welcome to Bladeforums! And a fine 2+ year period of lurking I might add.
For a list of various models, look on the Becker forum page and find the Becker Database up in the stickies. All sorts of info about Beckers, past and present.
Tomar's Ka-Bars is an excellent site to see what is currently available in the Becker lineup. Good prices and great customer service.

Thanks, Guyon. I'll follow up on your suggestions. I seem to have developed BAS (Becker acquisition syndrome).
