I have the Blackhawk version and just looking at the pictures, I don't see much difference. As far as workmanship and materials go, it is sewn well and everything looks heavy-duty and durable. A side by side comparison might show up some deficiencies in the Blackhawk but as of yet I haven't found any. Had it out twice and even though it's a ripoff, it's a pretty well made ripoff of a great design. I'd much rather have the Eagle version, but they are rare and pricey so this will do. Would not hesitate recommending picking one up at a good price.

There is an American flag inside the pack and I honestly thought it was USA made when I bought it. However, as you can see from the label, it's made in Korea by some of Ark's relatives. At least it's all in the family.

Dang it I can never find one of these for any kind of reasonable price. I would love one in Khaki or Od.
 
I've compared my Older Blackhawk bag to Psyop's Eagle BPP and they're pretty close.
 
Murph, thanks for a well thought out and informative review. As you know, these are a rare bird, I am still on the lookout.
 
Took some pix with my daily carry BPP and the gf's son's ALICE that Dresnor sent. I reattached the hip belt to my pack for the pix, but rarely use it. It's a good feature, but I'm not a hip belt guy, unless it's a heavy load. The pix may look a little skewed, but I tried to put them on even ground despite the ALICE frame.

i now have a gallery up of screen scraped images from various sources of many packs. good times. we'll see them sooner or later in the upcoming official thread.
 
Mr. Becker, did you have anything to do with the new, and I think still available, PALS covered version, or did Eagle take your successful design and cover it in webbing?
 
Great review. I tried for ever to get one of these, to no avail. Even the new EI molle Beckers are hard to come by ( and IMHO they don't seem as practical). Thanks for the post.
 
One of my greatest regrets... back on 03 I took a Carbine Class and was the high overall shooter.. One of the give away I received was a new with tags Eagle Made Becker patrol pack on Tan. I sold it....

Not one of my brighter moves... I wish I still had it.

Damn man, damn. I've actually had a lot of gear that I parted with, during and after the Corps that I truly miss.
 
I know what you mean Murph, I sometimes catch myself saying, "..wish I had my heater on."
 
As promised tman! Just arrived, this thing is even better than I thought it would be! Thanks Murph for the post it reminded me to look again. Not bad for $150, right?!:D
