Becker pocket knife would be neat.

I have been here a few months and have never seen it discussed. I apologize for wasting your time.

Absolutely not a wast of time, Beard. Hell, I don't think anyone here wants a BKT folder more than me. The more it is brought up, and discussed, the better our chances are of getting one.

Kabar listens. I'm not saying start a death chant thread (please, none of that), but bringing it up for discussion is a great thing. Its why we are here. As new faces and places roll into the BKT forum, older topics will come up again, and again, and again.

We come here to "converse" with one another about things we love, and are passionate about. If we just wanted to read stuff, hell, there's always google. :D

Glad your here, oh, and check the lets roll thread, you might wanna change your sig. :D

i would love to have a becker folder the tweener in a folder would be just about perfect. they would have to be built really heavy duty to stand up to the reputation of BK&T plus being usa built it SHOULD cost a pretty penny but we would have that confidence the becker wouldnt put out some shotty piece i would buy it and im sure MANY more plus it would reach out to the ONLY EDCers

Not for nothing, but i was told to "wish upon a star" for a BK10 also. Now i own a new LE BK10 & life is good. A folding BK2/BK2weener would be AWESOME. It would sell out quickly i am sure. Back to wishing upon a star.

I think Becker would struggle to find sales in a very crowded market right now, and the folder would have to over-built to take all the abuse Ethan and Ka-Bar know the design would be subject to. I can see the YouTube videos now, "This (folding) knife stinks because it broke while I was batoning it!"

In this area I believe BKT is a victim of it's own success. One of the key features of Ethan's designs is that they are over-built, and because of that users expect to be able to abuse them. You can baton a BK-2 or a BK-9 all day long and all they do is ask for more. You'd have to make a folder as sturdy as a T-72 (and about as elegant) for it to take the kind of abuse this user community would dish out.

northingeasting, you make very good points, and we've already seen things like you describe (for instance, the guy treating a BK-5 like a BK-2 and then being surprised that the edge suffered). I do think, though, that the knife crowd at large would recognize someone being an idiot and would respond accordingly. ALTHOUGH... perhaps KA-BAR wouldn't be afraid to step up to the challenge, innovate, and come up with an unusually sturdy folder.

I still stick with my theory that a folder with just decent performance but a great design and more importantly a strong brand (TWO strong brands in this case) will sell very well. And Becker has several really great designs to choose from.

I'll never stop wanting a Becker folder, so I'm all for this thread

I do NOT consider batoning abuse. One persons use is another persons abuse. A knife is a tool, period. Have you ever broken a tool ? I sure have. You don't whine or complain about it, you just get another & try not to break it again. I have batoned with my CS Recon 1 folder. It loosened up, so what, big deal. I tightened everything back up & it is good to go. There is no reason you should'nt be able to do some light batoning with a folder IMHO. BK&T is a success BEACUSE they are built tough. I certainly don't think it is a victim of anything. I do understand that some people think everything should be indestructable under every circumstance & we all know that is just not the case. I have only seen pics of 2 Beckers that were damaged. One BK2 was broke in two at the front of the handle & the other was a badly chipped blade. I have seen far more broken ESSE's on display at SMKW. It may not ever happen, but i have no doubt that if/when it ever did happen, a BK&T folder would be worthy of light batoning. I KNOW most everyone on here would buy one.

Make it in the good old USA or Japan and I will buy it! But if it isn't..........count me out. Kabar's over seas folders do very little for me now. The Thorn and d2 Hunter were great.

I would be all over a US made Companion folder. CPM D2 would be nice. ;)
Yea nothin I like better than seeing "made in Japan" it just makes my heart swell with pride. WTF!

Funniest T-shirt I ever saw ... "Rehab is for quitters"

Still makes me chuckle - she's a bit of a "free spirit" ... (Code for " party like a rock star" ) LOL

Well what do you expect me to say?

"Beckers are crap. The Triad lock is just as strong as any fixed blade, and I don't need a BK-2, because I can baton my Sebenza through a lawn mower. A SAK Classic is all a person needs for daily tasks, and if you carry more than that, you're a mall ninja.":D

Warrior: I beleive this is the correct response to Moose calling you a name, feel free to offer any critiques.:D

Serious Response: I'll never quit on these guys, but I've stopped carrying them every day.

Yeah, Shadow, perfect response. Just teh one I was lookin' for. :D

SAK's are great. I have a RuckSack on me EVERYDAY, and amazingly enough, it gets used everyday. Amazing knives for sure.

Maybe we could put forth the specs/features we would like to see in a BKT folder or multi. Kinda compare notes on who wants what and see if a clear preference arises... That way we can see some different takes on what it could be.

If anyone is one with the photoshop, maybe they could follow in DB's footsteps and hook us up with some pics. I'm just interested to see what we can come up with.

personally, I think a 1095ish, thick-bladed, micarta-handled lockback with the BKT brand on it could kick the kershaw outta my pocket:)

We already have a multi-tool, it is called the BK3000. Here is a pic.

The best part is each part is detachable, so you can use them separately. I haven't seen that kind of versatility out of any other multi-tool on the market.

BK&T: True Innovators

First of all I shall beg pardon in advance if this has been discussed regularly before my “discovery” of this forum and the Becker line.
As it appears there is no BK&T folder on the near horizon I’m curious as to what people who appreciate Becker’s have chosen to carry in their front pocket to the beer store, office if you go to one, church if you go to one, etc, as well as to the sticks. I’ve seen mention of spiders, and wanting to know further what you all have found and like.
What I’m really liking about my Becker is quality, toughness, great design, and value. I like that if I break it, lose it, cops get it, etc., I won’t miss a truck payment to replace it. I like that it is US made. I’m particularly interested in general use single blade lockers, but generally interested in all. What folders meet the requirements that also draw you to Becker? Thanks!

There was just a discussion on this about a day ago. :D Moose (?) already stated that it is unlikely one will be made.
