Becker Swords in the making?

Did up the version Silver was wanting, and fine tuned it a bit. New one is 27.5" overall, on top, 2.07lbs.

Sweet. Love it..

i want a Becker Kopis or Falcata :)

oh yeah

with a limit of "300" :)

So, it took me a little longer to do my CAD draw ups cause I actually imported the handle from a BK9 to use as my "smaller blade". This is the lower of the cut outs in the first post. I had to modify several thousand micro-arcs in the handle area to get it as close to perfect as can be. Blade length is 13.5 inches and OAL is 20 inches. At some point in the near future, I will be having this blank made by CNC water jet and I will finish it up. I will use 5160 because of the low cost and high toughness (my tests have proved this to be incredible steel if the HT is done right). It will take awhile cause life is very busy now, so this kinda has to take second stage. It Tooj wants to take it on, that would be cool.

Nothing fancy, just a 2D top layout...

You've said this a few times now, so maybe since we are sketching up all kinds of stuff we can come up with something. What kind of specs would you like to see? I personally love the shape of the falcata but am less familiar with the kopis. Do you have any pics you can post that clearly illustrate what the difference is between the two and what would make for a fairly accurate representation of the different blade types? I can draw up pretty much anything, and would really be interested in seeing what something might look like of a falcata-esque nature a la Becker.

I'm curious why spears are being neglected. I haven't seen a single drawing of a proper lance or pike.

Lance said he didn't want anything more to do with you. Something about you being too clingy. He is shacked up over with Erik now, so maybe you should talk to him. ;)

I am not into spears for one and I am completely dumbfounded as to how one would make a Becker styled spear since the handle of the knives really is where Becker's knife philosophy is seen. Don't believe me? Well you can see the handle is simple, functional and allows the knife to have a blade heavy balance, which I hear Ethan Becker likes.

I am not working on producing the actual knife/ short sword I showed above. Between that and other life things going on, I really don't have time to.

Maybe you could draw up something you had in mind, post it here, give some specs and maybe (I'm not speaking for Derek), we can make something of it...who knows.

I think the Kopis is generally shorter, more similar to a gladius in length (could be wrong here but I'm just going by the looks of it) and more of a drastic downsweep after the recurve.

I think the Falcatta is usually longer like a broadsword and has a less drastic sweep
