Beckerhead 'Spartan' Fitness MYB / BSP Aug

Party?!? It's not even a quorum.....

I could start adding the 4 miles I walk every day at work, but I was doing that before I got a fitbit so that doesn't really count towards moving my butt. Otherwise it's been a slow month, the parents are remodeling the house trying to sell and I've been spending all my free time over there, and I'm not waking early enough to walk to work.

myb: 31.5 - rainy day... didn't feel like getting wet or hitting the treadmill
bsp: 3 = 21 - push up / situps / dips

myb: 2.5 = 34
bsp: +2 = 22

Pfft, its always a party when we're around :P

every little bit helps! come this winter we're going to be doing a bit of remodelling around here if my wife gets her way.

I managed 2 miles of walking on Saturday and a morning workout as well, for once.

MYB = 2
BSP = 1

Some morning workouts the past 2 days got me another BSP point, still not moving my butt outside of work.

MYB = 2
BSP 1 + 1 = 2

0.75 miles pushing the mower up and down the hill yesterday. whoop-de-do.

MYB: 28.58+.75=29.33

Ran/walked 2.1 miles, the majority of which was running - or something akin to running (my feet are both off the ground simultaneously, so technically it's running....).

MYB: 2.1+29.33=31.43.

Also hit the (backyard) pool post-run. I swam a lot of hypoxic 12yd. intervals....so in layman's terms I swam underwater (in the dark) from corner to corner in our pool. Mostly, I was just cooling off and relaxing. AND, I managed to blow an outstanding bubble ring that I could see floating up to the surface by moonlight. MYB/BSP points earned? Zero. Bubble rings in the moonlight? Priceless...

myb: 2.5 = 34
bsp: +2 = 22

myb: +2.5 = 36.5
bsp: +2 = 24

lol Mike, if you blow the bubbles out your rear instead, you may just get some extra propulsion. :D nothing like getting a good fart out for that extra boost :D just don't poop. Nobody likes poop in the pool.

Especially me....since I AM the pool boy. Good news....I've never pooped in the pool - in more than 5 decades. That makes me pretty special, I think ;). OTOH, I can't say the same thing for my underwear.....yeah - TMI, I know.
I puked once after a swim race.....but not in the pool. And once, at band camp during a water polo game (in which my idiot swim coach, who gave me no end of shit for playing hockey (as a goaltender) during the swim season, decided that, Hey! Hockey goalie=water polo goalie) I bled profusely from my nose (from a blind shot - the guy caught the ball with his back to me, came out of the water about a foot and a half and just unleashed it underarm towards me - without looking....and I was about four feet away when he released the ball) and they had to stop the game for a minute to get me out of the pool. But still....I no poop in de pool. Dat's gross , 'cause essentially you are pooping on yourself!

LOL!

Bench press and deadlifts today. Giving my arm another week off from HIITs and jits, right now I'm enjoying the lack of conditioning work :p

Just got back from a nice trip to the Bavarian Alps (thread probably incoming one of these days). I got fat and out of shape pretty fast after uni and since I started working. Gonna try to start and work out a lot more. Gonna start up my swimming again, been slacking (read: totally lacking) on that. Noticed it pretty hard on holiday while going on mountain hikes. No endurance, immediately sore... Gonna be up for next month's. If I count all the stuff I did in the mountains I'd only be somewhere around 15bp or something. Hope to get a good habit going...

Walked around the city yesterday, got about 6 miles under foot on the hottest day of the year. Sunny af.

bsp: +2 = 24

myb: +4 yesterday +4.5 this morning = 45
bsp: 24 - today we are taking our oldest to Canada's wonderland. I'm sure if I had a GPS tracker I'll be adding another few myb points to it... but it wont be anything like jogging. Was going to do my pushups this morning but my arms are still wicked sore from Saturday. I helped a buddy move his 120 gallon salt water fish tank. He moved from his apartment in the city to the suburbs in Dundas (a nice really nice place). When we first picked up the tank and it was empty it was around 300lbs. This time it had 2 inches of wet sand in the bottom and the permanent fixtures of coral in it, I'm willing to bet it was over 450lbs. Both of us lifting with everything we had could barely move this thing... but we did it lol. Forarm forklifts to the rescue! I told him if he ever asks me to move it again that I'll just blow it up and buy him a new one.

Ghark! Welcome brother. The scoring that CF made is pretty simple to follow :thumbup: everybody here is just trying to improve their fitness a little bit!

myb: +4 yesterday +4.5 this morning = 45
bsp: 24

myb: +1.5 + 2 = 48.5 - got some wicked planter factitious from my shoes the other day. time for some new runners. Hurts to walk... but strapping into a boot is fine. Roller bladed last night and this morning.
bsp: +2 - pull up day!

This past Wed. I actually ran the entire time (- 2min. warmup and cooldown) of the 2 mile distance....kinda shocked myself. Granted, "running" is kind of an overstatement - but "jogging" makes it sound like I didn't even break a sweat. Anywho, 2.5 miles all said and done.
Finally got back on my bike today after 2 weeks of rrRRrr! no cycling....felt pretty wooden, so I tried to focus on other aspects of the ride. Still managed to go 33 miles at a fair pace without blowing up entirely.

MYB: 31.43+2.5+11=44.9(something something something extrapolated).

hitting the backyard pool for the end of (Summer) days......

myb: +2 =53.5 - morning dog walk :thumbup:
bsp: 31

myb: +2.5 = 56 - jog with the dog :D
bsp: +3 = 34 pullup day.

Mike that's awesome about the running! (ya running jogging whatever it's still moving your butt). I find with mine, I just need to get my groove or rhythm down. Pace + breathing = me going. Once I get over the first hurdle of getting that down (normally after the first mile) I'm going to keep going for a little while. It's just finding that point that sucks lol.

Do have an end goal of how far you want to be able to go? or for now are you just trying to improve?

I rode 9 miles on a paved bike trail on Saturday, but otherwise my workouts were pretty nonexistent this month. I'll blame helping my parents refurb the house to sell it, that took up almost all of my free time.

MYB 8 + 3 = 11
BSP 2
