Post up your progress for MYB and BSP. GET FIT!

Scoring:

The idea is simple. Move your body. Get fitter.

Between the dates of (insert current month) 1 and (insert current month) 31, the challenge is to earn 50 Becker Points. Points can be earned in the following fashion:

1 mile (1.6 km) on foot = 1 Becker Point
3 miles (4.8 km) road cycling = 1 Becker Point
2 miles (3.2 km) mountain biking & inline skating = 1 Becker Point
1 mile (1.6 km) swimming = 4 Becker Points
Yoga - 12 min = 1 Becker Point

If you just do one thing, you'll need to hoof it 50 miles, or road bike 150 , or mountain bike 100 miles, or swim 12.50 miles. You may combine items to build toward 50 Becker Points in any fashion you choose. Honor system in play.
This thread will be the place where people report in on their progress.

BSP:

200 light reps = 1 BSP
100 medium reps = 1 BSP
50 heavy reps = 1 BSP
30 very heavy reps = 1 BSP

Planks - 10 min - 1BSP

Well folks its September already. Where has the summer gone? oh wait.....we were running / biking / swimming/ lifting it all away.

Not going to lie, I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I need a day of rest, but its the first of the month aaaaaand the dog needed out. So I decided to move my butt a little, time to start the month!

MYB: +2.5
BSP: +2

Damn. Now I have to start all over again.
2 mile run bracketed by 0.4 miles of walking. Running is getting....a little less hard......but still far from easy. I get more exercise that way.....right? From working harder over short distances? Avg. on the HRM (for the run part) was 156, with an avg. pace of 12:15/mile. No one will accuse me of being fast, but at least I'm slow. Not turtle slow.....

MYB: 2.4

Also shot my bow the last couple of nights now that I have a string back on it.

Woot! Just got back from a 33 mile bike ride...which I normally don't have time for on weekday evenings. Coast road was low traffic, which was surprising - and I actually felt like I had some gas in the pistons tonight. Managed a 19.1 mph average over 30 miles....kinda shocked myself, given my, ah....very low mileage season - and lack of saddle time. Makes me wonder.....

So yeah, I bought lottery tickets. I mean, who knows?

MYB: 2.4+11=13.4

Just got back from a massive jaunt through downtown Seattle, rained *hard* for the first 5 miles or so which had us seek shelter in a sweet bagel cafe for some breakfast, got lunch at a Mexican bar in Ballard where my housemate's bartender friend works, and then walked all the way back through the city and up Capital Hill (steepest hill in town) to meet the other housemate after her shift ended to then have dinner at another nice bar/restaurant. Managed a little over 14 miles which is nice, a good start to the month.

MYB = 14

MYB: +2.5
BSP: +2

MYB: +1.5 = 4 yesterday - took my own advice from the first and took the 2nd off (kinda). Just took the dog for a short run. I needed the rest. Will update later if I can get a workout and run in today.
BSP: 2

MYB: +1.5 = 4
BSP: 2

MYB: + 4.5 = 8.5 will update after a run*
BSP: +4 = 6 - pushups situps and dips!

* Smashed it! set a new personal best 4.5 miles in 30min AFTER a workout!!! For me this marks another little milestone. At the beginning of my 'get fit adventure' The rout I ran today was my end goal! By running standards its nothing special, but for my fat ass it is lol!

Congrats Tim!

I just got back from an overnight campout up in the mountains, hiked 5 miles out yesterday , camped alongside a river overnight, and 5 miles back today for a total of 10 for the weekend.

MYB 14 + 10 = 24

Took a rail trail ride on my MTB this afternoon, 16.6 miles. What a gorgeous day. Wasn't planning on being out that long, but I didn't really want to stop pedaling - and the normally wet part of the trail was bone dry....

MYB: 13.4+8.3=21.7

BSP: +4 = 6 - pushups situps and dips!

myb: +2.5 = 11
bsp: +3 = 9 pullups, extensions, and planks!

Thanks Matt!

I wonder how ya'll feel about scoring planks. Kinda like Yoga? 10min of timed planking = 1 bsp?

I think 10 minutes of planking is about equal to 100 push-ups, so 1 BSP seems reasonable.

I just walked 2 miles to get a coffee, in an attempt to move at least 1 mile extracurricularly every day for the rest of this month.

MYB 24 + 2 = 26

myb: +2.5 = 11
bsp: +3 = 9 pullups, extensions, and planks!

myb: +2.5 = 13.5
bsp: +1 = 10 - did some pushups today. ran out of time this morning because I stayed in bed for 15 min longer then usual. My body aches lol.

Got a 3.5 mile jaunt in during lunch break today, specifically wanted to visit a hidden staircase in a random neighborhood in a lonely part of Seattle. It was a great staircase, about 10 stories' worth of stairs all in a straight line, I was hurting by the top because I didn't stop. The way back was a 25% graded hill that was hard to walk down it was so steep. Overall, fun walk, look forward to doing it every so often on lunch breaks for exercise.

MYB 26 + 3 = 29

The start of the stairs, and then the view half-way up.

Damn Matt! that's one wicked set of stairs!

I like that the stairs are just a mile from work so I can take a long lunch break and hit them every so often for exercise. There are tons of other random staircases around the city I have yet to find and explore, kinda cool living and working near a city that's hilly.

Got another 3-mile walk in, this time just around the neighborhood.

Walked the dog this morning then came home and stretched. My body aches and our weather is pretty nasty. I hit it hard at the beginning of the week. Time to relax a little and let my body catch up.

Yesterday I did the stair walk again, counted 156 stairs and about 12 platforms between sets.

MYB 32 + 3 = 35
