Here's the only SAK I have ever owned:
030079B0_zps9f9d2895.jpg

It is at least 35 years old and is now just a drawer queen. But I carried it all over the world, in Vietnam, Germany, up and down mountains, camping etc etc.

The marking on the larger blade says "VICTORINOX SWITZERLAND ROSTFREI" on one side and "VICTORIA OFFICIER SUISSE" on the other side. I don't know if this model is still being made or whether it is hard to find these days. Any thoughts?

To be a true Becker SAK Owner, you gotta have a Rucksack, its the one Ethan carries.

I'm in love with my Farmer, course I back it up with.........a..........Colt 45?!?!?! :D

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Vic Safari - larger blade, best (& thicker) saw, longer awl and corkscrew. Great textured nylon scales and a lanyard hole that goes THROUGH the knife, not some itty-bitty ring.

I've had the same spartan since I was 9 years old lol. I've had this thing for 19 years. It's time to upgrade to one with a saw for sure.

I dont know if your question has been answered or not, but the Hercules has a locking blade. it is also my favorite one, I have carried it almost every day for the last year and a half.

The Tinker is my favorite (because it's what I own) - but it's hard to beat the tool combination at $18. I should check out the Rucksack, too.

Rucksack or Outrider. Locking blade, longer saw and scissors and a Phillips driver on the Outrider.

I've used a Vic Climber in the past, but recently bought a Huntsman to use instead. This one hasn't seen much use yet although it's exactly the same as the Climber but with a saw blade too.

I'm drawn to this one. I buy 'em whenever I see 'em cheap.

I like the Farmer too though.

Yea, i just got a huntsman the other day and im lovin it. The only thing it's missing is a phillips head screwdriver. I don't really have a use for a wine opener.

I EDC all 3 of these every day. SAK in a pocket organizer in my cargo pocket, Kershaw Cryo in my front pocket and 14 in my bag. The SAK is a One-Handed Trekker. Its kinda big to carry in your pocket but I do sometimes anyway. I would rather have a larger blade that locks. One of the flat screwdrivers locks as well. I love this knife! I bought a Nite IZE hip clip (pocket clip for cell phones) and attached it to the back of my SAK. It works pretty well. you can see the clip in the bottom photo.

OFM4 . . . How about additional info on the pocket clip on your trekker?

Neat job . . . how do you attach it securely?

Yea, i just got a huntsman the other day and im lovin it. The only thing it's missing is a phillips head screwdriver. I don't really have a use for a wine opener.

I used to use the corkscrew for opening up vents in a drop ceiling to adjust the damper.
plus you'd be amazed at the number of times I've seen the person who brung wine for dinner doesn't realize they need a way to open the bottle... (and we won't go into the fact that SWMBO likes beer with corks AND caps)

Not a Beckerhead, so if that's important, disregard the rest of this.

I have 3 models of Vic SAK, other than the little Classic that I used for a keychain fob for years, I really don't know what the model names of the other two are. One is 5 tools/blades thick, and the other is 4 tools thick.

I think the 5 tool thick one is either a Ranger or a Forester, its got large and small blades, file, saw, scissors, can opener w/ small flat blade screwdriver, bottle opener/wire breaker w/ large flat blade screwdriver, awl, boot lacer/package carrier, small screwdriver, chisel, corkscrew, toothpick, and tweezers. Haven't got the faintest idea what the 4 layer one is called, it's missing the package carrier thing, the chisel, the third screwdriver, and the file that the 5 layer one has.

FWIW, I think the saw, the scissors, the awl, and chisel are probably the most useful items, and I don't think I've ever found a use for the package carrier/boot lacer thing. Also, think the can opener and the awl are much better quality than whats on my Leatherman Juice multitools.
