Beckerhead's Other Choppers

I’d bet that it would chop through the parangatang.

(And I LOVE KaBar’s parangatang.)
:D That El Chete must be a hell of blade. The Parangatang chops's like a MoFo if the El Chete will out preform it Damm! That would be very impressive :thumbsup: The thinner Parangatang bites pretty deep . Deeper than my 20 .

That last hit was right on a knot and still went in not bad . Very interested GeofS in your findings after you get some time with that Beast :)

I think comparing the two is an apples to orange type situation. Both serve their purpose, the Chete is just a much heavier tool.

Very true..... It IS different, but a lot of us have a parang, so I'm still curious? :)

Very true GeofS :) I'am just curious if a 1/4" steel actually chops better ;) I know it will Split wood better but I have a village parang and 20 that are ok but in the chop off the thinner blades seem to do better. But if you find the El Chete to be a deep chip throwing monster I'am going to want one. :)

Stupid question....."Why three?"
are they each different, I can only kinda tell slight variences

*again, they are pretty!

Oh, don't let the looks deceive you. The BC (longer one) is .240" thick and 12" blade. The MC (OD handle) .220" and 10". The HDMC is .270 thick and 10". They look the same, but they all feel very different in hand.

And then there were 2! Thanks GeofS GeofS ! I'm gonna have to send you one of these this Fall for you to keep and use for a while when you're at the cabin. I think you'll be amazed!
Thanks for the kind offer, and, that would be great, but, you know something would go wrong with it while it was in my possession, haha.

Which is your favorite?

I've got a big blade coming soon, I'm curious how it's going to be?
