What's on your radar for this year?

For me, I want it to be more about using what I have and learning from it rather than just acquiring more stuff.
That means more outdoor time and less online time, so you might not see me around quite as much.
I have a lot of trails, streams, and lakes that have been on my "to do" list, and now that I've freed up more time for such, they're a go for this year.
My modest, minimal goal is at least two weeks worth of over-nighters this year, some of them with my son.

I also want to work more on my spiritual and my physical improvement.
That means more church time with my family and more time outside and moving.
This morning, I weighed in at 222, and by mid-year, I'd like that to be about 15 pounds lighter.
Ultimately, my goal is to get to a weight that fluctuates between 185 and 190.
It took years to put on all this weight, so it will take both time and significant lifestyle changes to get it off.

Lose weight.

Shoot more.

I really need to lose some serious pounds. Like, around 60lbs. that would put me in the 185-190 category, and I like that category. Haven't been there in 6yrs, but here' to doing it.

Shooting is a passion I've had for a long time, and its one that I have gotten away from. I wanna spend more time and money on ammo and getting rounds on target this year.

Fortunately, both of these endeavours involve my family, as we could all lose some weight, and I been teaching my kids how to shoot for a while now, about time to move the big one up, to the rimfire class, and get rid off the BB's.

Moose

I hear you, Moose. One of my friends here in town bought some handguns, and we've gone to the range a few times.
I've really enjoyed punching paper with my Ruger Mark II. Cheap but fun.
Heck, I learned on a .22. My mother's position was that a BB gun would put my eye out but a .22 was "safe". :D

As for the weight, well, I'm in better position now. With the albatross finally off my neck, I don't even want to eat as much.
I was stressed for at least a couple of years, and unfortunately, I ate instead of exercising to relieve the stress.
Less calories. More movement. It's a simple formula, and I finally have the time for it.

Two goals for me. 1, Get in a better shape than a pear shape. I wanna get back in hockey form, maybe join a men's league if I can find the time. But either way I wanna be in shape to play whether I can or not.
2, to be more unplugged. Live in the here and now and not online. Keep my forum time down and spend my free time with my family instead of you hooligans :D.

Oh yeh and 3 to buy some tweeners and a hinderer. But the hinderer is a pipe dream

My goals for 2012 are mainly to get back into the gym, and to keep up my knifemaking and make every piece better than the last. Also to try to make it to some knife shows and the gathering, if possible.

fix my knees
lose weight
shoot more
meet nice girls
also meet less nice girls... ;)
moderate less
get a house...
camp more
work less
mmm, girls
hunters permit
stuff like that

For a second when I opened this thread, I thought I read "shoot more girls" in your post there Bladite, and I was a bit worried about you.

if they want to see my glock and shoot it, all the better; as long as i'm shooting blanks, i don't want kids :D

I want to spend more time outside with my gear instead of polishing it.
Spend some time backpacking
Quit one of my jobs so I have free time instead of working 16/7/364
Way more camping needs to happen
Do some hunting, I haven't hunted since I was a kid, same with fishing
Unplug a bit, though both my jobs are online so it makes it kind of tough
Get a custom machax made
Lose my unreasonable fear of bears, they gimme the heebee jeebees :grumpy:

I plan to finally give in to the world leaders, scientists and others by toning down my awesomeness because they believe it contributes to "global warming ".

Really though, pretty much the same. I should lose about 15lbs. make time to get out more into the woods and the shooting one is good Moose, I'm stealing that one!

Help more in the local political scene and get a new president elected.
Lose 30-35lbs (was there, knee injury last summer messed me up)
More time in the woods with the family. Spent a lot of time out last year, but family usually couldn't go.
Work on getting my CCNA certification completed.

Work on getting a bikini bod before I get to go on my first cruise someday. I started eating better yesterday hopefully I will keep it up. Also going to hit the gym too.

I gave up buying chinese 2 years ago and am keeping that going, This year I stopped wearing underwear.

You're perfect just how you are, don't change a damn thing.

Unfattify myself. Lost 40 lbs last year. Need to lose 40 more to get to 225 which is my goal weight.

Learn to freehand sharpen!!!! Ahhhh

Mountain bike more

And spend more time in the Word.

Knifemaking ate my past year - which was great. But this year I have to make it pay for itself: step up the quality one more notch, improve completion times by building a proper grinder for myself so I need to borrow less equipment.

Get back on the bicycle. It's lonely. Race at least 3 times. One bicycle ride for every motorcycle ride? Hm.

Get to the range. I barely reloaded once last year, despite the new dedicated bench. It's time to shoot a couple IDPA or bullseye matches again. I *did* reach 50yd proficiency with my 4-5/8" Blackhawk, tho, so that's one multi-year resolution accomplished in 2011.

Get a new job that I'm happy to get up for in the morning. (this should be first on the list)

Pretty much I have 4-5 hobbies, and that's too many. They are somewhat seasonal, and that would be a good scheduling plan, but NOT making knives all summer? waaaah. Dunno about that.

The get-back-in-shape thing dogged me for awhile. This summer I was whining to myself about not having enough time. Gave myself the advice I'd give anyone else whining to me about it: "If it's important enough to you, you'll make time.". That night I started setting my alarmclock 15 minutes earlier to do 2 circuits first thing in the morning before jumping in the shower. Highly recommended.

One of them was to buy my first Becker. I just ordered a BK5 and Micarta handles. Now I have to wait which is part of the fun.
