Beckerheads, Post Up Those New Year's Resolutions

Oh man, so out of shape. Good thing it's a resolution, or I'd already be rethinking my decision to get back in the gym. Amazing how much one sucks after 6 months of relative inactivity...

Well, I started to work on both of mine, this weekend. I got to spend a couple days field hunting, so, walking through heavy growth is a great workout, and throwin the fact that I went for about 3 hrs each day, with no food and little fluids, seems to have been a good start. Plus, me and willis busted some caps after we got out of the field, so there is some shooting.

Gonna pimp out my Ruger 10/22, so I have a cheap way to get back in shape on the trigger and my "in head calculations". Which is good.

Getting back on my meds will help me lose some weight too.

Put on some weight. Yes, that's right. At 6ft and 165#, I'm pretty damn skinny. I'd like to gain about 10-15 lbs.

Run and hike more to get my knee back in shape after the injury in April 2011.

Complete the Klotzmarsch, which is an endurance hike that will take place in October, 62mi in 24 hrs.

Find my grail knife and sell all the others. (yeah, right)

Sort my life out, I've been slacking a bit lately and some stuff has been piling up, I owe a few people and organizations money, gotta get that done quickly.

Minimize the amount of outdoor gear I own, get high quality stuff instead of many low-end things, and make more gear myself instead of consuming mindlessly.

Do something against my acne, I hate the way my chest and back looks.

Compete in more Beckerhead challenges! btw, does anyone know what happened to January?

I'd like to get back into shape, drink less, eat better, donate my time ....

Who am I kidding, haven't kept a New Year's resolution in my life. (LOL)

My 2012 resolution is to get my shit (back) together.

In 2010 and early 2011, I was hauling ass. Defacto (and then official) supervisor of a group earning my company $1.5 million bucks a year, wrote $5 million worth of proposals, was part of a team that brought in a $30 million dollar contract, ran $100 million worth of construction projects, studied $1 billion worth of capitol improvement projects, ran the local engineer's chapter of my professional society and chaired an 800-attendee conference thereby earning my professional society $100k as a hobby, was a dedicated father of three young kids, taught an astronomy class at the kids' school, hosted an exchange student for 10 months (which turned out to be a very difficult experience), and got in the best shape of my life (did a Grand Canyon rim-rim-rim in 2 days; 50 trail miles, a vertical mile altitude change each way).

Now I can't even drag myself away from the computer to get the damned FrankenBecker done.

So yeah, my resolution is to get my shit (back) together.

Yeah I'm with you guys I need to drop like 30 lbs, way too young to be overweight (I'm 22). I also want to get above a 3.5 this semester, I have been slacking and not really living up to my potential. I also want to put together a BOB type bag. Right know I basically just have a bunch of shit thrown together in my tool bag. It's extremely unorganized and I feel quite unprepared.

Yes, the Weight Whittlers, the Cellulite Choppers, the Lard Loppers, Back fat Batoners ....

I need to drop another 30-40 pounds myself. I dropped just under 30 last year. I'm taking it slow though I'm thinking 10 pounds a month.

I'd also like to spend some more time on the trails.

I'd like to get more free time to do some more leather work; being a hobby is fine but I'd like to do more.

Mine is to set up a small camp out back behind the pond. Have to get a lot closer to the earth. Gonna play with my knives more and sharpen the outdoor skills. Want to make lots of knives and jewelry to help me buy more stuff to make more knives and jewelry. The weight thing is overrated, my wife loves me. Want to get my hands on a BK7-now that's a resolution.

I gave up buying chinese 2 years ago and am keeping that going, This year I stopped wearing underwear.

Are these two things related?

Complete the Klotzmarsch, which is an endurance hike that will take place in October, 62mi in 24 hrs.

Very cool. I have a 26-mile one-day hike in my sights for October.

Yes, the Weight Whittlers, the Cellulite Choppers, the Lard Loppers, Back fat Batoners ....

All excellent ideas.

I was on the 40 by 40 program, lose 40 lbs by age 40.
Well my wife gave up on me and implemented the 40 by 41.

Buy less, use more.
More hiking.
Bible in a year.
Shoot more.

Get out with friends more.

I have 3.

1: Spend more time in the presence of God.
2: Get out in the woods more
3: BUY MORE BECKERS!!

1. Lose the last 20lbs I've been carrying around. I dropped the first 20 a couple years ago and this last 20 is still lingering.
Hoping to drop the inches around the mid-section and add it to my arms, chest, and shoulders. Started working out in November, but started a daily routine today. Hopefully will stick with it!

2. Hunt more. Went Dove Hunting on Christmas Eve and took my daughter. She doesnt like shotguns too much, so she is wanting to go bunny hunting with her .22. Also plan on buying myself a 10/22 this year. Hopefully at the end of the month.

3. Get busy with church again. I ran a Royal Rangers (A/G) outpost for a number of years, and it looks like the opportunity might be there again in the current church I am attending.

4. More time with family. I spent way too much time working this year. Didnt get to take any long quality time off with the wife and kids. Really need to make it a point to get out more this year.

5. If there are funds left, take my daughter and I to get scuba certified this year. She will be 12 years old and able to take the classes. Its something I've always wanted to do, and my daughter was blessed with my love of the water! Hoping to take that first step this year to get us diving off a reef somplace nice!
An after thought, 1095 wont take well to saltwater will it?
