Thank you Psyop. The top hawk was a Cold Steel Pipe Hawk that I modified a couple of years ago with hand tools and pewter star inlay. The lower hawk was a Cold Steel Spike Hawk. It was done during the same time frame, Lots of metal removal accomplished with hand tools, pewter star and both hawks were blued with brownell's dicropan blue and rubbed to a soft blue patina. The Spike Hawk was a Christmas gift to my nephew and has a place of honor in his collection.

Incredible work hawkhead. I remember seeing some of those in the trailhawk mod thread. Didn't realize that was you.

Thank you tgreen812 and Warrior. There will be more hawks and knife mods coming now that my shoulder is healing.

Hawkhead, your craftsmanship is phenomenal. I know you put a lot of time and effort into all your projects.

Heal fast so we can continue to be awe inspired.

Thank you Td for your kind words and encouragement. My latest projects are both hidden tang knives. One is a CRKT First Strike tanto converted to a convex grind fighter and the other is a drop point bowie blade I bought and customized about nine years ago and finally made a walnut handle for it this past year. Healing is slow.

2 all but done -- made from 1/4" thick O1 thanks to the ever generous Mr Hunt.
17" long, 5.5" front to back, and 3.5" cutting edge.
The shiny one throws (and sticks) well and chops fair. the other needs flared tubes or pins before I'm willing to toss it at a stump.
fit and finish is "5 foot perfect" - as in, from 5 feet out you can't see all the screw-ups. :D

Thanks.
I'm bringing them to the gathering -- they have a faster rotation than my traditional hawks, lotta fun.

I'm sure you will be going at it in no time at all.
