A few weeks ago I said in the chatroom I saw beckers for sale on the Walamrt site and I was called crazy. I went back and they were no longer ther.

Well they must have been sold out or something cause they are back now

Deal Spotting

A lot of people hate walmart, but if you really want to get BK&T known by the masses this will do it. Oh and free shipping to store.

Walmart is not even legally allowed to open stores in the 5 NYC boroughs... if I want to goto a Walmart, it has to be Upstate, Jersey or Long Island. I've been to one only once, late last year in New Jersey.

If they carried them in-store, I'd be thrilled. Good for Ka-Bar, getting them in their catalog, but if I'm going to have to order it, I'm going to use a knife dealer (most likely Tomars) to support what they do.

Not to mention the fact Walmart screws over the US of A..I read somewhere Walmart was responsible for displacing something like 100,000 or 200,000 American jobs

Walmart seems to be charging more than lets say Tomars.
Why would you even bother.
This is great for Ethan.

a lot of stores "carry product" that they don't actually carry.

i can name a few :P

they just call pass along the sale for a % to a re-shipper if you're lucky.

if you're not lucky, they wait until they've met a minimum order. that might be few days, or a few months, or never.

they might even, like some stores i know, buy a pallet of something, just to have stock, or the ability to drive traffic.

i'm sure someone at wally world discovered a trend, and for SEO purposes if nothing else, offers them for sale.

course, they might simply have caught on they sell well. then they would be in the stores. they carry fiskar/gerber and many other names. perhaps they are branching out.

wally is not stoopid. they change their markets to sell what people want. if what they want changes, so does wally.

people also say they are evil, and they might be, but they move product. they employ people in areas that don't have jobs. i have a couple "cousins" that found work for a couple years, and benefits, when the market was so soft that you couldn't get work sitting in a chair at home ;0

I would rather go without than shop there. Even if they start stocking Machaxes tomorrow I will not shop there.

I am not prejudiced against Walmart personally but, I have seen how they can change the whole commercial/retail marketplace. I live in Hawaii and we have 3 (soon to be 4) Walmarts within an 10 mile radius. I do miss the smaller local businesses that companies like Walmart and HD have displaced. I try to support what local businesses are left but in a way they are such a part of the retail landscape here, they have become a necessary evil.

I shop at Wal-Mart. It's the cheapest place around where I live to buy ammo. Other than that, I try to avoid it.

You guys might not believe this........... A guy from the gun club bought a Spyderco Para II from walmart and it is not even close to smooth as the one I git from Knife works. I believe that companys make a lesser line of goods to meet what walmart wants to pay .They cut a few corners and sell it to walmart .

+1billion.

and they don't help the local economy, they destroy the local economy. walmart stores create a region of walmart dependent, minimum wage jobs, with any money in salaries respent AT walmart, and any profit that could actually help the local economy shipped out of area. they ruin local and regional stores/economies. they suck. bad. medium term, long term. for the entire country. ban them. wait, are they members here? can we invite them to join BF and THEN ban them?
