Beckers & The Joy Of Cooking Photo Thread

I relied heavily on JoC when I first moved out (half a lifetime ago), figuring out the whole how-to-cook thing. It's great for sauces, how-to's and why-for's. Since then, it's kinda been collecting dust as I cull from many different sources.
But I recently came across the Mother-in-Law's old pre-Uncle E edition, so I'll try to dig something out of there for this weekend.

Oh hell yes. My ex worked there as a teen, and she knew the recipe, and made it all the time at home. I love cole slaw.
Warrior I'm just replying because this will be my 384th post which is my BH # So I'm using it to Thank you again for the awesome Beckerhead M1 you designed me.Thanks Warrior

Thought I'd start a photo thread, showing what you make from The Joy Of Cooking cookbook, along with, of course, a Becker knife.

The wife made some orange bread tonight. There were three loaves, but we ate one of the smaller ones. It was damn good. Let's see what ya got:

What's the recipe for the BK-2? How long do you bake it for? ;)

I couldn't wait until the weekend...

Pork Roast
Spoon Bread
Apples with Onions
Baked Zucchini with Bacon and Cheese
Gravy for Roast.

I gotta admit, I just don't eat this much bacon anymore. So I used the turkey stuff on the Zucchini.
Wife still thought it was Amazing.
And that pork roast - out of this world.

Lagunitas Lucky 13 - very nice pairing, and possibly a new favorite beer.
Finished off with a finger of Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve.
Very happy.
I should take the day off more often!

Found a ton of cool old stuff in the cookbook. 1960 Wedding announcement, and note to the happy couple from 2 months prior. Must have been an engagement or shower gift.

Mmmmm, looks awesome man. I think I have that same edition, as well as the 75th anniversary addition. I keep it at the cabin.

Was awesome. I really don't eat like that anymore, but my wife had to take her Dad to the hospital on her birthday - Tuesday - and we spend a combined total of 10 hours hanging out with him until he was admitted, and a combined total of 20 minutes together. So she requested a do-over birthday. Therefore, I went completely overboard. And it was great!
Tons of leftovers. I see a couple pork salads in my future.

I think our newest was still older than the 75th anniversary, but both the wife & I, and the MiL, had newer white-cover versions.
I can't find either one right now.
I hope we didn't wind up ditching them in the move. Very good reference books for when the girls head out on their own!
