BeckerWest, 2013April 19th -21st. Most of you folks get what this is all about. Fire, contests, beer, Guns & beardings. So rather than type it all out again and again I'll just link up to a couple of past threads.

A brief sysnopsis,
Friday, arrive, eat, drink, talk knives, shoot guns & bullshit a bunch. ( Friday night is the one not to miss.)
Saturday, Eat, contests for knives( fire, chopping, hawk throwing, shooting), eat, drink & fire. Usually pretty tame at night because everyone is tired from fri.
Sunday, possibly a contest if we couldn't fit them all in sat. folks are usually on the road home by noon ish.

Exit # 195 , Beltline hwy west (Randy Pape' beltline) 9.5 miles to
(right turn) Hwy 126 west (to Florence) 14.8 miles to
(right turn) Poodle Creek Rd. 4.2 miles
(left turn) Fisk Rd. Approx .5 mile gate on the right.

I had an absolute blast at the last BeckerWest.
 
Ok here's the rules of this deal,

No dogs
No carrying of firearms after drinking , (there was unpleasantness the first time we had this)
I think that's it for rules.

I'm gonna try and do a bow drill fire for the group and l'll do that same talk on finding, processing & igniting pitchwood again if there is interest.

I've talked to the captain regarding group meals and she feels its the one thing we could improve on. So were gonna do some group meals.

There will be a shooting contest , fire building , hawk throwing & chopping like always.

Feel free to run your mouth in this thread.
 
Hey 'FALER, last time you mentioned doing a knot tying tutorial.
This is definately an area I could improve on.
Any chance of something like this in April?

Hell yes. There will be a few of us who can teach a few knots, I'll need a volunteer to bring rope.

Also on a different topic Bill Siegle reminded me, regarding bringing the young folks, understand if you bring them they will get an education, not limited to cussing, bearding, bridges blown, corporations corrupted, rebellions quelled, cattle rustled, general piracy and debauchery.

Naw, she's all that's right and good in the world. She liked how you guys do community meals and I suspect that's ethans doing the cooking just out of self defense but were gonna do somma that.
 
I'm in! so stoked for this. After successfully gathering data from both gatherings I can say that this one's gonna be GOOD! woooooot!
 
I'm not a BH, and don't own one yet, although I have been looking at various smaller models for some time.

That said, this sounds like fun. I was born and raised in Springfield, but moved to Bend about 6 years ago. You mention Coast range and about 30 miles from Eugene. Which area are you thinking ? Somewhere around the Walton area ?

I'm always up for a camping trip, if time and funds allow. It would be a great way to meet some other members from Oregon

Mike, if you and I cross paths in the near future, I'll hand you my 5 to take home and test drive. You will love it!:D I'll be heading south from Seattle on Monday. Perhaps we can meet somewhere.
If I'm in the area, I will try to show my ugly mug at the gathering.
