May 4th - 7th

It’s that time for all the West Coast Beckerheads to unite! I believe this will be our 21st gathering.
This year it will be at the same location as last Fall. Just South of Sisters , Or.

What can you expect when you show up to BeckerWest?
There will be food, fire, strong drink, contests, and general merriment! ...You get the idea.
Thursday- Arrive and set up camp.
Friday- More guests arrive, folks hanging out, setting up camp, a lot of B.S.ing, a fun night around the camp.
Saturday- Big breakfasts, contests, lot's of food, usually not as rowdy as Friday night.
Sunday- Breakfast, camp clean up, trash is picked up, and everyone is usually out by Noonish.

Contests will include,(but are not limited to):
-Chopping
-Tomahawk throwing
-Pistola target shooting
-BB gun shooting and/or Slingshot competition
-Fire making

"What should I bring?"
-Bacon
-Camp stove
-Food, drink, camp chairs for sure.
-Tent, hammock, or some form of shelter.
-Trade items
-Bring some TP, there are no restrooms.
-Folding tables and pop-up canopies are always nice to have and welcomed.
-Knives, guns, and gear. Ear and eye protection.
-Bring whatever you need to spend two nights in the woods.
-More bacon

Rules: Petty simple...

1. -Absolutely NO guns and booze! If you're drinking, you're not packing.
2. -NO dogs!
3. -Take your trash home with you please!

These have been steadfast rules. They work. Please don’t plan on breaking these 3 very simple rules.

Location: Just South of Sisters, OR.

Driving directions:
When in Sisters go South on S. Elm st.
Go 7.3 miles and turn right on Whychus creek
after 3.1 miles take a right at the V in the road
Go 2 miles, cross a wooden bridge and head right
0.6 miles after the bridge, the campsite is on the right.

If you have any questions please contact myself or FALER via pm.
I'll update this this post if more info is available.

There are a lot of folks at these gatherings with a lot of great knowledge to share.
If you haven't attended a BeckerWest gathering, come on out! It's a lot of fun!
If you can't get the time off work, well... you might as well quit your job because you won't want to miss this!
I’ll see you there!

I’ll update this post with names of those who will be attending:

I always threaten to go but never do! Maybe this is the year. Would love to finally meet ya’ll. Hard for me to get time away from work/kids.

Excellent! Great news!
Thanks Jonny.

I was a little worried it might end up being the end of April, the typical time, as I my Wilderness Medicine cert is expiring this year, and I need to recert in April, and I have had a really tough time finding a class.
I was just about to post up and see what the plan was.
It also might be nice to have a little gap between to the OKCA show and Beckerwest.

I plan to be there!
Not sure how many days, as my son's birthday is on the 8th, but I will work something out.

Looking forward to it!
Now if we can just work on getting a nice snow storm that weekend, to make it really fun...

Gonna try and make it. We'll see.
I was gonna go see the bear in the little car that week.

I guess I’ll formally commit. :)
So last time we had way too much food. I think it would be a good idea to plan meals at this point. Somebody call Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. I’m good to do any or help out with a few. Let’s just talk here and get a good idea of what we’re looking at.
No need in bringing food that won’t get ate!

I’ll do burgers for lunch one day Friday or Saturday
we just got a 1/2 of a grass feed cow the meat is tasty.
Onion buns and regular buns, bacon, pepper jack, sharp cheddar, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles any other suggestions?

I’m a horrible meal planner but excellent at bringing in ingredients 👍 Let me know what I can pack in!

Okay, so far it looks like Pàdruig will do a stew one night, Nix Kustomz will do duck or smash-burgers one night, and me and Awesome-0 will do a rib roast on Bex-Caliber one night. Pease will do burgers Friday or Saturday for lunch.
I’ll have the Camp Chef with griddle so community breakfasts should be no problem.
For those not doing meals maybe just bring sides, bread and snack stuff. I’m sure we’ll be just fine as always!

Awesome plan!
I will echo what Bill said.

I know I can bring eggs, fresh, organic, free range, fair trade, blah blah. Probably 2-3 dozen, if that helps.
I can do snacks and sides!

Post other ideas as you think of them

I'm happy to make them, only a few people ate them though.
Yeah, those will be just for you and me. 😁

So Awesome-O has been the grand master at running the competitions and always does an amazing job. With that said, if anyone has any ideas for new competitions or twists on old ones, your suggestions are welcomed.
We’re still a month out, but I’m getting excited for this little get together. It seems like two times a year isn’t enough! 😁
