Benchmade Rukus – tang is 0.15 inches, blade is 4.2 inches. Sabre grind. The blade just flies out because of the Axis lock. Light detent. S30V steel that takes a fine edge. A joy to use. Low carry clip. Another beautiful Neil Blackwood design (first production run).

Rukus is my best knife (I have over 50, including many Spydercos). The Rukus has been my EDC ever since purchase, 5 years or more ago. It's totally illegal here in Australia, but my philosophy is that if I am attacked (I walk for an hour with my wife at night) by man or beast (there have been some horrific dog attacks on people recently), I want to have a sturdy, deep penetrating knife to end the attack quickly. I'm prepared to pay the cost legally. I'd rather be alive and in jail than dead and law abiding.

I got my Grayman Satu about a week or so ago. It's big, wide and heavy (11.5 ounces) but very smooth. It'll definitely put a smile on your face. Two things I would've changed. Firstly, make the dual thumb studs the stepped variety for easier opening. Secondly, I would've liked a stepped titanium backspacer instead of G-10 since it looks better and is stronger. The stonewashing all over is very nicely done. I really like mine. Very unique.

If you can get them at the price I got this one for at the Base Exchange, then this little beast gives you the most beef for your buck....
