Behind the Scenes @ Fiddleback Forge 2/8/2017-??....or watch us build a table

Sounds like Andy has to do all the damn work, because the other three guys argue and point the finger a lot. ;)

Btw, Allen makes great shovels and steak knives.

Regular CIRC-O-DUST in that shop......very entertaining if you stand back and watch.....

Only one that does real tricks is Ivy, give her a biscuit and she'll make you do the trick!

I learned about Fiddleback a few weeks ago (I only just got into collecting in the last few months). So then I decided to look into where in the country these beauties are made. To my surprise, Cumming, the same city I live in! So, I immediately bought my first Fiddleback (supporting the local economy is a good excuse right??). Then, I learn that Andy is a legitimate coonass like me (I'm from Baton Rouge). Needless to say, hook line, and sinker. I'll be visiting on Saturday morning for the guild meeting. I'm looking forward to meeting the crew.

How cool is all that?! Congrats on how these discoveries are all coming together (Cumming, together? :p). Though I'm admittedly jelly of your proximity. ;)

That turned out really well.

correct.
i was getting knives ready for heat treat & noticed there were a couple of the new models. No name yet, but I am calling them the "Neckmuk"

Nekmuk. :D

Who does the grinding on the blanks after they have been profiled, drilled and chamfered? Andy?

Also when do the tangs get tapered? Before or after heat treat?

Allen and Chris do quick pre heat treated grind. I do all grinding after ht.

Me and chris grind and taper prior to heat treat. I hand them off to Phil to clean up before he gives them back to me to do the heat treat.

Slight clarification :D Allen and I grind all the blades prior to heat treat, I do all the tapers and Allen cleans up the tapers

more clarification

I clean up ALL the blades( tapered or not) before heat treat:D:D:D

Hmmm. From all this, I take it y'all make knives together....

:D

can we get someone else in here to clear this up

The table turned out nice. The next build needs a giant bullseye inlay on the surface.

Happy birthday Sarah

hahahahahaahaha

If you guys get this all sorted out of who does what, I could make a flow chart for y'all. Then when that's done, Andy could might take a look at it and streamline some things ;)
