Thanks everyone for the kind words and for giving me the opportunity to serve you. I am a knife nut 100% and proud of it!:D So to have the chance to interact with you guys on a daily basis is just a real pleasure.

561, only knife I want at the moment. Hopefully by the end of summer it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

TPWUTOAFEAUUE.

(The people who use these obnoxious abbreviations for everything are usually under eighteen.)

:)

No offense, just pokin' atcha.

On topic, I plan on getting one a 0561 very soon, and posts like yours just fuel my fire. :thumbup:

Prof.

Ain't it the truth? Bastards! :-)

I can barely understand texts from my own kids, they'll need to start offering classes in text-ease.

TTYL BTW, My BFF, ROFL, IBTL, YMMV IMHO, that is.

WhatEVER.....

Me too, it will be mine. Mine's on order and is supposed to arrive Fedex on Fri. Sold a couple other blades including one of my favorites--my CS Recon spear point--to fund the purchase! Hated to let 'em go, but it reduces clutter, keeps my better half happy, and convinces her to let me try a new knife occasionally. :-)

On paper, from reviews, and from pics, to me the 0560/0561 looks like just about the perfect all-purpose folding blade. We'll see when I get it, but these are my impressions and why was willing to plunk down $260.

* Affordable (I admit that's subjective and to some, anything over $30 is not "affordable"--but I'm comparing to stuff like CRK and Hinderer knives),
* Perfect all-purpose blade shape and profiles (easy to sharpen straight edge, nice hollow grind for cutting perf, just enough belly for skinning)
* Super steel
* Good Ergo's
* Fully ambidextrous
* Strong frame lock.

What's not to like?

Google "Urban Dictionary" and it will break down all the abbreviations for you...:D

I like this knife, too. It's the first Kershaw/ZT knife I've kept. I don't have any problem with the pocket clip and jeans. It holds solidly.

The ball bearing pivot attracted me to this knife, as well as the Elmax steel. The pivot is smooth, but to be honest it's not that much different than a Military and not as free as an axis lock. The fit and finish on mine were very good. Solid lock up, centered blade, everything clean and crisp.

The flipper is a bit of a disappointment. Thumb studs on a knife like this are more than enough. The flipper is like an extra thing sticking out of the handle, although I like the guard effect of the flipper when the knife is open. The jimping on the flipper is on the wrong side for grip. Maybe it's just for looks. Looks weird.

The blade is pretty good, although its cutting profile is much heavier than the Military, even the new AFCK. The ergos are very good, although the thumb studs need a particular style to use. ( In know they are not intended to open the blade, but I still find them easier than the flipper.)

And just in general, the knife appears to be super well designed, highly functional, heavy duty and well made. It's a beaut.

I haven't been able to put mine down since I got it.. it's great..
Mine too was pretty great outta the box.. the lock was a bit sticky, but just threw some sharpie on it and it's been fine since. I have the 0301, and I really like it alot, but I gotta say I like the 0560 better. Mine opens fine with the thumb studs, ya just can't rotate it out, just flick it open.
I showed my friend this knife and he said, "No knife is worth over $100" .. ppl that don't know, don't know. Overall though, it's one of the best knife purchases I've made in a long time..

I can't believe this knife is getting smoothier, I've played with it so much my fingers are sore, this knife has really got me looking into the tilt and even the 777, I just e-mailed kershaw, gonna try to get a new clip and see if it's any better, but if it's not I'm gonna e-mail a ceratin BF member who is famous for his pocket clips and get this bad boy taken care of, I'm scared to carry it in my work pants, and don't really wanna pocket carry it, so for now I'm just playing with it while i'm at home, until I find a solution for my pocket clip issue. Again I'm not saying it's a design flaw the clip is great for jeans, but with work pants, at least the kind i wear I need a lot of retention or my knives will come out of my pocket.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but I heard you can put Hinderer pocket clips on them.. you should check that out.. shit, I might check that out.. lol

The last time that I was left speechless, about a knife, was when I got my Sebenza. :D And although I really love the G10 scale, I'm really looking forward to putting on the scalloped LSCF scale that I ordered from Peter r....should be in later this week, I hope. Btw, I have also read about the Hinderer clips being compatible with the 0560/0561 so I might try that out as well.

Oh brother, I just got the Fedex notification that they dropped it at my house. I'm working here on a Saturday, it's crunch time and trying to meet a deadline for a software project next week.

So now it's decision time: go home and play with new knife NOW, and finish the work later this afternoon? Or keep working, and try to hold off thinking about the 0561 until this evening? Decisions.....:-)

A very cool friend of mine on the forums here pointed me in the direction of a clip that will fit this knife, and it only cost $3.00 very very cool instead of the 60.00 price tag on the hinderer clips. I got the faactory pocket clip sticking to my pants for now it just looks a little rough it took a lot of bending and shaping on my part, so I called zt and they sending me a new one, and I got 2 of the 3 dollar clips a friend told me about, just in case this knife ever goes to the exchange, but I highly doubt it will, unless ZT releases this knife with s90v or m390 blades.

Heres a pic of the 3 dollar pocket clip... may not be as pretty as original, but it fits my needs more.... Picture borrowed from CaptainRedbeard (thanks Buddy)

I found, with regards to my zt560, that after a few hundred flicks opening the knife really becomes buttery smooth. Even to the point of using the stop studs to flick and or slowly open the blade.

Just got my 0560. I was honestly a little scared spending this kind of cash on a knife, much less a production knife, and one as large as this one. I am totally scaring people here in the pharmacy playing with this thing...
