Belt kit

Any suggestions? Not much more room so maybe more tinder? Matches?

I have to agree that a small fixed blade would be a better choice.

Some unlubricated condoms preferably those extra thick Trojans.

1.Great for storing water (reinforce it with a sock or sleeve)
2.As an elastic for a slingshot
3.For wound management (keep out moisture)
4.Keeping tinder/paper/matches/meds dry
5.Never know when you might get lucky!

Some potassium permanganate crystals
A vial of potassium permanganate crystals has multiple uses. The generally accepted directions for use are to mix with water until bright pink for water purification (chlorine and iodine are easier and quicker), deeper pink for antiseptic use (the cotton balls could come in handy here), and a deep red to treat fungal diseases. It doesn't take much in a quart to get these levels, so what little is there will go a ways. It will also mark snow bright purple as a ground signal. It can be used as a fire starter mixed with sugar (1 part to 2 parts, respectively) and impacted between rocks it is supposed to ignite. This works best with fairly decent quantities but requires a lot of practice. Alternatively, 10-30 drops of glycerin into two or three large pinches will create enough heat or a fire that will ignite prepared tinder (most antifreeze contains a high percentage of glycerin). Odds are you'd never need to use it in that way. Primarily it'll be used as a disinfectant, water purifier, or signal but it's nice to have a back-up for up to five other items that already exist in your kit.

Good Luck

Well, after reading all of these ideas for the belt pouch, I have decided on something a little larger than the M2. I am going with the Versa pak.

Big target, paracord idea is excellent. I am now wrapping my fixed blade sheaths in paracord for some extra cord as well.

Steve, I just noticed that when I looked at the different packs again. Thanks for the heads up.

Volume 11"Solo Survival" video of the Woodsmaster Series( http://www.survival.com )

Ron shows how to do it with about 30 feet of cord. just take 60 feet and fold it in half, tie off the ends together and make the ladder lace that way!!!

And when done, tie each end to 2 cheapy carabiners and attach to the pouch with them!!!;)

Started working on a kit utilizing everything from the other pouch. I also para cord wrapped a CS Recon Scout to the strap. I cord wrap all my fixed blade sheaths and most of the handles, I will put 80lb test Spiderwire under the para cord in most cases. My freinds are always asking why and then how! Ha! I added a couple of heavy duty rubber bands to use as a Hawaiian sling type launcher, also some MRE tp for tinder and it's usual use. I am also adding speedhooks.
I just read another story on Equipped.com about a man utilizing a plb to get rescued as he had gotten disoriented and lost his way back to his camp. A pouch like this would have helped if he hadn't had a plb.
