Just received the HK Snody PE today. First impressions are that it is a solid well made knife. It has some heft to it possibly as a result of the substantial steel liners. The G10 is grippy and holds well in the hand. The blade though not scary sharp out of the box was decent. Much sharper after a trip to the paper wheels at which point it is scary sharp. Overall, a nice pick up for EDC rotation and at a little over $100 I find it to be a good deal.

It's an awesome knife for EDC. It's quite possibly the most underrated/unknown Benchmade out there. I really want to get it's smaller brother, the 14210.

Yes it is a great knife. The liners IIRC are aluminum. The blade is really thick so I think that it is what adds to the weight as well. This is quite possibly the smoothest BM out there. Very under rated.

The liners are aluminum? Wow........I just assumed they were steel. It has such a solid feel to it. I am very happy with the knife.

Yeah that is what I said too. Most BM steel linered knives have holes drilled out of them anyways to cut down on weight. IMHO the aluminum is going to be as strong or stronger that those because of the solid liners. You should not have any problems being able to use this knife just as hard as any other steel liner BM like the 610\615 and 520\525. This knife also packs better in the pocket for me than the afore mentioned BM's.

From the benchmade site..

By the way.. The 14205 is my favorite Axis model... Love the blade shape
Good for you...

The 14205 is among my favorite knives and my favorite model from BenchMade followed by that great little Harley Davidson Mini-HardTail that I also love a lot!

The liners are stainless steel on the HK 14200, 14205 and 14210. Magnets don't stick to aluminum.

I stand corrected thank you STR. I have never thought to do that. I guess I got misinformation. :} My appologies

Hey M. I thought you'd have some custom scales on that badboy. It would look bad A$$ with some off those ranger green scales or some green canvas micarta. hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm.

MMMmm.. Green...
14205 Project will be happening... But it looks so natural in black.

This is my personal HK "WWA" (with Wave added)
I also took out the thumb stud and plugged it with a barrel that fit perfectly I just happened to have in the shop. Not sure where it came from or what it went to but the stud isn't needed anymore. I can use the Wave to open the thing just as easy or just Wave it off the pocket and its out. Love it!

Thats a good idea steve..
I found that about 1 of 5 opening's.. The thumb stud would wave the knife accidentally anyway.. With the way that blade glides open.. Forget the thumb stud..
