Benchmade 581 Barrage (some large-ish photos)

I too have the 581 Barrage, mine is close to yours in production #829,
it seems they may have gotten tired of spitting them out at this point. I'm sure they had a deadline. I sent mine back after I recieved it. Side to side blade play and very slight vertical play, (using the tip of course!). I also was not happy with the fit and finnish of the bolsters to the G10. It was uneven with a larger gap due to the bevel of the bolster on one side and not quite uniform on the other. Again I could have lived with it, and I was acting like someone who paid around $200 dollars for a knife..............Wait A Minute! I DID!!!

So I'll see what I get back When It Comes. I sent it in on the 30th of March.I
I think Benchmades designs and materials are Great, sometimes I think they feel that's all they need to reel someone in. I could have fixed it but there should not have been side to side play on a knife of that cost.

Great review! I had a 585 mini-Barrage that almost replaced my mini-Grip as my EDC, but I sold it to fund a 806-901 (almost wish I had sold the mini-Grip, but I was looking at a move to a city that outlaws assisted openers). I didn't make that move, and now I'm looking at that 581 really hard. However, I do have to ask why you and nottoosharp paid $200 for that knife when it can be had for a LOT less?

I love mine. My 950 used to be the favorite EDC, but the 581 has moved to the top.

Nice review, but friend, you do need to reduce the image size a bit,
you have them at 800 but the overall quality makes them so large
they load very very slowly even on a DSL line, still loading now and not
all are showing yet and we just love seeing photos :) !!!
Thanks again,
G2
(grumbling as he goes off to spend money he doesn't actually have on a knife
he just needs to buy...;) )
