Benchmade 940 blade grind

It's a T6

As all Benchmade knives are handmade..

Its highly likely that there can be small differences from knife to knife but they should all stand up to BM's strict quality standards.

The uneven swedge is also not uncommon. Just put it to all Benchmade knives being are handmade.

I guess that really depends on your definition of handmade and your ideal of BM's quality control standards.

The uneven grind line is a very common thing with the 940s. I know mine has it, and I've heard numerous other users complain. It's just such a minor issue that none of us really care about to do something about it.

They're 100% production knives and minor issues like this are to be expected, and really tolerated given that this doesn't affect performance one bit.

Thanks for all the post! Answered all of my questions! This is my second knife (1st being a spyderco endura 4) and this is my first benchmade. Just wanted to make sure I don't have a bad production knife that I spent $180 on lol

My 940 is funny. The blade isn't centered, and the grind on the top isn't even. I also have some side to side play, but if I tighten it, the blade doesn't freely flick closed.

Sent it to benchmade. Not a fake. Maybe made on a Monday morning. Pretty bummed for the price. I can't return it either.

Also some weird lines in the blade grind.
