Benchmade 940 vs Griptilian which one do I buy

Both the 940 and the Griptilian are awesome knives. You need to hold both in hand at the store to see which is your preference. I carry a Griptilian for work EDC. If the Bugout hadn’t come along I’d still be carrying a 940-2 for off work EDC. Since you’re new to knives and just learning, I’m thinking it would probably be better to start with the Griptilian.
Thank you i figured it's good to start with the basics too

I have the mini ritter in M390, and the steel is very nice. But the upcharge with BM for G10 and cv20 makes it a no go for me. Now I am prone to losing stuff in the woods or water so ymmv. And it is not like cm154 is bad steel :), and I like the full size grip just as much. For opening boxes and such, I much prefer the BM drop tip vs the Ritter tip. But the Ritter does look a wee bit better

Yeah I'm a huge fan of benchmade, everyone has their preferences when it comes to knife company's. Mines has got to be benchmade for many reasons, my list of benchamade knifes that I will get over the course of this year would be the grip, obviously the 940, probably the mini grip, and the bugout list may change but we'll see i think I need to get the classic benchmade knife first lol

Grippies are incredibly tough, highly ergonomic and very light -- ideal for both indoor and outdoor chores. The grips are as close to indestructible as you can come. It carries unobtrusively. The Axis lock is one of the most ingenious innovations in folding knives in the last couple of decades. Tough to beat that combo.

Good to know I'll probably be getting a grip so I can't wait

Sorry I forgot to add this before sabre cat but I think I'm going to go big or go home and get the nice g10 20cv 551-1 griptilian

Good for you. Getting a full-size Grip is the way to go. I originally wanted a mini grip but bought a used 551 at a super price and I have never looked back. The full size fits my hand better.

Oh yeah I like the full size way better, I'm not a huge fan of my Kershaw leek because it's too small. So I don't think I would be a huge fan of the grip mini, however I love benchmade so I will be collecting a lot of their knives. So down the road I see one in my future along with the 940 lol

For outdoor use, I would go for a large griptilian over the 940 ...
The handle is a real bonus and IMO the blade geometry is much more versatile.
