Benchmade 943 - Is There a Better Benchmade EDC?

No not yet, going to order it monday. Yes I am talking about the CF, and if anyone wants to know the website, I will post it then.

Shoot me a pm. You're not supposed to post websites unless they are a vendor on here (I think).

YES there is...the Benchmade 941Ti-01. Mine's pretty beat up but I absolutely love it. I think the overall feel and lockup is even more solid than the 941/943, which is already solid as can be.

That looks like a really nice knife, but there are 2 problems:

1 - WAY above of my price range

2 - I am looking for a combo edge

For $40.00 bucks I can't ask for a better EDC knife . I got this one yesterday at a flee market . Yup $40.00 . He wanted 50 and I looked at the guy you crazy $50 I give you $35.00 he's like no way this a Benchmade . I put it back and looked around playing with other knives he had . So what's the big deal about benchmade I give you $40.00 and away I go with a big :D:). I got home late yesterday so today I cleaned her up still have a small spot of rust but it will come of . Sharpened it and went straight to the basement to cut up all the recycling boxes and paper . The serration of the combo edge did get in the way when doing a straight push cut so I'm not likening it . I do have the 943 and 940 plain edge that I don't use much but I will put this one to hard .

So I recently ran into an issue. I really would like this BM 940S-1, but there is one problem: I noticed that S90V is VERY difficult to sharpen, so I was wondering how an amateur like me could sharpen this steel?

Of the S90V knives I carry I haven't yet found the need to sharpen one yet. However, my plan for the 940-1 is to send it back to BM to get it sharpened when the time comes. Edge retention is so great with S90V and I have so many knives in my rotation that I don't anticipate having to do this very often.

Yeah, I would not want to mess up the blade in any ways with my lack of experience. Do you have any idea how much this would cost?

You can always call BKC for blade swap to plane edge.

Umm...If you know a place where you can find the 940-1 for 220, please email me

The website I thought I could buy from is actually out of service and will be for quite some time

Sorry, it is local brick & mortar shop. Unless you find it used, and rfeliable source, I would recommend getting from big 4 knife shops on the net. KW, KC, BHQ, GPK, etc

I like both my 940 and 943, awesome EDC folders, both of them I bought pre price hike. Of the 2 I prefer the 943.
Much as I'd like a 940-1 it's just too expensive to me. Should a 943-1 eventuate I may not be able to resist though.

Somebody just posted a 940-1 in the for sale forums. It's not the combo edge but it's a pretty good deal.
