Benchmade Adamas 275 vs. Paramilitary 2???

All 5'1" of her. She's the one that got me into sharp bladed things. Her wedding present to me was a katana replica. Not just a wall-hanger, but a functional modern replica (she couldn't afford a real 300 year old one).

Thats a bad ass present, late congratulations from me :).

The 275 is very beefy and very large, even from my perspective (I carry a 3.6" knife daily). A substantial shape and very thick blade, too.

The PM2 is much more discreet for the blade length.

DEFINITELY BENCHMADE if you intend to beat on the knife or something
They both have good locks but notice that large void in the blade of the stainless one

I have both. The BM Adamas is a more stoutly made knife - think of it as a pocket 'bushcraft' contender - and will be mine for a lot longer than the PM-2 in digital camo I bought (It was cheaper than a regular PM-2!). I like Spydies... but I love Benchmades!

Quite fooling yourself and get both. the Adamas was the first knife i ever spent over $100 on and have 2 of them today. It's a folder that thinks it's a fixed blade. It's the epitome of the term "HARD USE KNIFE". Can't think of many ways i could damage it. The Para 2 also a fantastic knife. If i had to fillet something or cut something with precision it would be the Para. This knife like all Spyderco's feels like to was molded to fit your hand. Every position you put your fingers in and every style of holding grip you take it will feel molded to hand. Spyderco i think does jimping the best hands down. Seriously, if you are going to get one of these you will get the other. They are both to good not too. Planning on not buying them both?, would recommend staying off of BF cause all the pics and info will make you change your mind and you will have multipules of them.:D

^^^there it is! I knew he'd be along to show you what the Adamas can really do.

I would go for the zt 350 if your concerned about the tip on the pm2 its a far more robust knife in my opinion and around the same price as the pm2

Even the ZT 0200. I recently purchased one and I'm in love. It's a beast!

Congratulations on the decision. The Adamas is almost in a league of its own among the current production folders. For such a solid knife it's surprisingly comfortable even for my relatively small hands. I don't find the weight to be that bad; my Buck 110 weighs a bit more than the Adamas, and we all know several generations have and still carry those around.

The only negative thing I can say about mine is that I haven't really used it for anything in the two years I've had it. Still waiting for a task worthy of it! :D

Yeah, I absolutely love it so far. Its built like a tank and the weight and feel of it in the hand absolutely inspires confidence. I feel like a could cut a semi truck in half with this thing! Haha Can't wait to go hiking or something and really put it to good use!

dropped my 3 day old paramilitary (s30v) on a laminent kitchen floor from pocket level and a good chunk of the tip snapped off, I was able to reprofile it out by hand on a stone though. Great knife, and I liked the tip for its function and it was a bummer to lose it to a newly profiled shorter stubbier tip (although a stronger tip now ;)).
