Benchmade axis lock afck!

All I gotta say is if a full size AFCK Axis Lock in M-2 steel comes out, I'll likely be selling about 50 or so folders.:p

Is the hole supposed to be oval or round on this one? Perhaps they'll revert to round because it's already kind of a special run?

PLEASE! ROUND!

can anyone provide a link to an official source for this?

Psst! My ultra top secret source inside Benchmade has managed to get a photo of this. :)

Ha, ha! That must be the ultra-top secret double lock knife. I notice it has an Axis lock and a liner lock. ;)

Well, I have no inside information other than having spoken with Les De Asis one evening while enjoying a cold one (or two) at the Guild Show.

I asked Les specifically about this knife because it's the one I want.

Les said that he couldn't say yet that it was definite, but that they were very seriously considering making the Axis Lock AFCK. I stressed to him that M2 was a requirement for this model and he agreed that it should be one of the options. I don't think (but my memory may be hazy here) that the round thumb hole is gonna happen, and I believe that we were discussing the large model (but not necessarily to the exclusion of the smaller version).

No exact time frame was given but things may well have advanced quite a bit since that conversation from the postings here.

Anyway, just wanted to share what I could from direct contact with the head man.

I think it's going to happen, myself.

I can confirm that an axis lock carbon fibre AFCK in M2 is being made. I have N-10 on order. As to when it will be made that is yet to be confirmed and the price will be around $200.

I want the mine with plain edge! $200... NO PROBLEM(I've got visa, mastercard, discover, etc,etc...) count me in for sure.

You could possibly be correct, Shmackey. My co-workers just came back from Subway, and they say that they sighted Mayo and Onion down there. Hmmmmmm.

 Onion and Mayo, how cute, this knife is going to happen, its a special make up, and there will be a lot of people miss the boat
because they don't believe, I wouldn't have posted it, if it wasn't
true, I can't believe people aren't more exited about this very
cool special make up, the powers that be do these special make ups only for the people, and the people should be more supportive.
I hope more people get on board.

i hear there is this urologist who will be offering a penile implant with an axis lock....large version first then smaller versions if the large one sells well....and the handle wont be too long for the blade so to speak...lol..rotflmfao...i couldn't resist;)

:( I can't believe all the doubters, if benchmade doesn't see
enough positive response to this, you can be assured they
will never make a main stream version, I don't get it, I mean
does this mean everybody doesn't want this knife?

I want one, but I'll believe it when I see it. I also won't jump through hoops to get one, and I won't pay $200.

If you think I'm bad, just wait until someone who *isn't* a BM fan chimes in. Me, I love the Axis lock and I think the 710 and 940 are benchmarks.

For now, I guess I'll stick with a lockback from Quizno's.

Well everyone is entitled to there opinion, its only the
internet to blame for the low ball pricing, these knives are
worth more than they are sold for, 200 was just a guess, but
when you combine M2 steel with full carbon fiber, and an axis lock,
what kind of price do you expect? Please let me know what a limited
edition special make up is worth, maybe I'm wrong, I don't want
to pay to much either, so what's a fair price?

Folks, the fact of the matter is that if there are too many options being requested (not that BM has to listen to them) then this folder will not see reality soon enough. Remember, the Axis lock is what a lot of us were looking for in this AFCK. Now round holes, oval holes, no holes, studs, discs, M2 steel, CF handles, shorter handle lengths, etc. Too many things to put into an "improved" folder. Not that I wouldn't want some of these options myself, but a $200 retail would not be too unrealistic if this were the case.

Personally, textured G10, their current 154CM steel (with thinner edge angles of course :o :))and their old round hole opening cutout would suit me just fine.

Agreed on all four points. If they decide to make one with the mentioned features I think it would be a good seller. I don't think that the powers that be at Benchmade need the prodding of a rogues gallery to aid their decision making.

If this is such a desirable knife, wanted by so many of "the people," how come they're only going to make 50? They're going to have to do some special tooling to fit the Axis lock in, and certainly have to come up with a new right side liner. I don't see how 50 copies @$200 could begin to cover the costs.
