Benchmade axis lock afck!

I'll take one! Keep it as is. I like the handle to blade ratio. I don't really care about the opener. Just make it!

Bugs, I'm betting there will be more than 50 made. My guess is that the 50 being talked about will most likely be a "pre-production" run like BM has done before.

While I'm excited about this and I'm keeping my eyes open, I'm not holding my breath.

I can confirm that an axis lock carbon fibre AFCK in M2 is being made. I have N-10 on order. As to when it will be made that is yet to be confirmed and the price will be around $200.

It's NOT an AFCK, but a version of the BM 710.

If you check the BM forums, you'll see that they have commissioned a forum knife with carbon fiber scales, and M2 blade steel, and some other options.

An Axis AFCK would finally get me to purchase one, but, as was stated earlier....I'll believe it when I see it.

The knife being discussed in this thread is not the 705cfhsbc1 forum knife being discussed on the BM forum. Totally different things, unconnected.

I know that.

Read what I quoted the General saying...he says he has an AFCK Axis with Carbon Fiber on order....now how is that possible when BM hasn't announced an Axis AFCK yet? I think he has the BM forum knife on order, and confused it with the AFCK.

I don't know....I think he would know if he had the forum knife on order. On the other hand, BM is coming out with a limited # of 730CFHS. The 730 with CF and M2-don't recall the particulars as to when, or how many, but understand that people have put in orders. Hmmmmm.
That's what I think he's got ordered, anyway.

I don't doubt an Axis AFCK's going to happen, but won't be holding my breath. I had emailed BM about it ten months ago, and Travis told me to "stay tuned". I'm staying tuned....but I don't see anything, just yet.

...and the hole will not be round:(

Let me state this one more time, they are going to make a special run
for a couple of distribtors, and will only make 50-100 of this
particular version, I don't know why there is so much confusion,
of course 50 wouldn't cover their costs, nobodies that stupid, this
is a special make up knife, there will only be so many made.

Since you have one on order....what's the model #?
Who did you preorder it through, and how can the people who read this contact them to preorder one?

Listen up?
Listen to yourself. If you want to make claims, back them up with something beside hot air.

Model number
Contact info

Couple of facts people. I dislike BM but they make some good knives. I won't cut off my nose to spite my nose, the AFCK series had good and bad points the 710 had more good points, but some weak points. A combo of the Axis and the AFCK will fix all my quibbles with the AFCK and the C/F will look great. Oh and M2 is my fav steel as well.

I am not a rabid fan of BM, but I know for a FACT this is not the C/F 705 Formite model or a 730 or a this that or something else. Call me what you will but I know the real thing when it is offered to me.

As to hot air and facts, I will be happy to provide this once my close friends have had the chance to get one ordered. Mine is locked down and reserved (50 would sell in less than 1 hour if I posted up a contact e-mail, most are gone now anyway), but until my chums have had the chance "I know nothing". If any of my friends out there did not get my e-mail, mail me! I will put you in contact. To the rest, sorry but it is nothing personal. If I post this up and he gets bombarded I might annoy the person who made the offer and I don't want to do that. Respect is everything. I am genuinly sorry to those who I don't know who have asked for more info I just can't help you. It is up to the person involved to read this and contact those who are interested or tell me to post it up. Sorry.:(

Feel free to call me names, I don't feel good either I am piggy in the middle, but I HAVE to respect the person who made the offer and not put him in a position to get bombarded with thousands of e-mails.

I personally think if what the General says is true, then he'd provide us with info.

I have scoured the BM site, and find NOTHING referring to an Axis AFCK.

I even called a dealer friend, and asked him. He didn't know either, and he usually knows whats coming before anyone. He buys directly from BM, and has always been able to inform me when new models are hitting the street.

In summary, I'd love to see the AFCK with the Axis lock join the BM line up. However, until I see solid evidence of such a model being made, I will not believe it's going to happen anytime soon.

I am sorry you feel that way. I am trying to do the right thing here. The only other possibility is the person who I am dealing with is pulling a scam to get the money from people who are so desperate for this knife that they are prepared to risk the $200 or so whatever. This had crossed my mind, but it all seems above board. I just hope I have not been conned into backing a false golden egg here. I can confirm that the models are being shipped to a select few B&M stores. This is undoutably a good thing for the B&M stores as they can charge full price and a good thing for advertising. Also BM are well know for price... 'adjusting' and being in favour of B&M stores. Thus I doubt it very much if more than a handful of people have even been contacted, I count myself one of the lucky few if it turns out to be for real. Call me a trusting sort, I will contact BM directly to confirm this offer is for real, just in case it is a scam and I am being ripped off.

I'd like a full sized version myself if they make one; the Mini is too small for me. If it's in CF, so much the better, but I'll take G10. A plain edged M2 blade is a must, though.

Request for confirmation sent to BM with details of person and company who made the offer. I have been on the level with this. Please don't call me a stranger to the truth.:(

General, If/when you get a response from BMST, please post it here or email it to me if you don't want to post it.

TIA

No problem medusaoblongata if/when I get a reply I will send it through private e-mail unless I am asked to keep it to myself. You might be a friend, but I can keep my mouth shut and would do the same for anybody be it a company or a person. I hope everyone can accept that I am trying to do the right thing. I can't help but feel that BM has inadvertently let the cat out of the bag and the news is spreading like wildfire. I don't want to add fuel to the fire, but I have been and accepted an Axis AFCK. It remains to see whether it is on the level. Till I get a reply silent I will be.

Well an Axis AFCK would be cool but I don't need one. I mean the 710HS is great. I find nothing lacking with the 710HS. I've always been amazed at the amount of forum support for this knife. If the Axis AFCK ever does show up, I'm sure people will find something wrong with it!

Hey General, I can accept that you're trying to do the right thing....but I don't have to like it. Well, whoever is involved in this, if you're reading this, email me,please. montay@excite.com
I guess it's worth a shot, huh?

The supplier in question contacted me when I posted here, and has probably contacted others on this thread. Wayne knows what he's talking about, and isn't making this up, so get the hell off his back. The supplier didn't intend for this knife to be common knowledge, so I think the General is doing the right thing. The question in my mind is whether the supplier is above board and really can deliver on this.

Well, it is hard to tell how real the deal ever was, but it certainly seems kaput at this time. I just got this from the person who was commisioning the project:

"I regret to inform you that benchmade called me yesterday and told me they would be unable to build the knife, all this after my factory rep had told me it was going ahead, I submit this to you with my deepest apologies."

That from Jed Leonard at Outdoor America.

Rats.
