Benchmade Bone Collector

I have a feeling that a few Bone Collectors are going to end up with Ritter M4 blades....

Looks like the price difference after the new pricing isn't that huge between grips, 527's and these, for d2 and g10, probably be the first bm I keep.

I don't like that huge BONE COLLECTOR on the blade, myself. Looks like something a cheap knife would have.

+ 1 on this....Looks like a great knife - one of the few offerings from BM that has caught my eye in a while....I just can't get past the whole "Bone Collector" thing either....

Seen they are also bring out a 551 Griptilian (551-101) in CMP-M4 steel and carbon fiber and G-10 handles.

I like it A LOT! I have the 550HG and this will be a good companion for it! Hopefully they will keep making it till I can afford it. It is a really great blade IMO.

I'd buy one without a big hole in the blade. Any word on a thumbstud version yet?

I know who did scales on this one. MarcinS aka Marcin Slysz - knifemaker from Poland.
yep, i 've touch two Doug ritters grip he pimped... it was gourgeous...
unfortunately he is not doing those scales anymore...

Anybody know if these have full liners or partial liners?

Also saw some other bone collector branded stuff at Cabelas today, t-shirts, stickers, liscense plates, that sort of thing

With an AXIS lock I don't care if it has a stud or a hole. Just pull back on the lock bar and flick the wrist a little and it is open. Do the same thing to close it. You can open it gently or fast and hard with this method once you get use to it.

As far as the stud and hole, if you flick your thumb up parallel to the handle, the blade pops open equally easy for me. Having the hole makes sharpening an acute edge bevel easier as well but I will take either.

+1. Looks really stupid IMHO.

Love the idea of a Griptilian with G10 scales, though. I wonder if I could swap out the blade or somehow remove the logo....
