Benchmade Bone Collector

The bone collector is flat ground but I see that as a very positive thing. Why would you prefer the hollow grind? A flat grind usually seems to work a bit better for the things I use my knives for which are cardboard and woodwork.

The 525 mini-presidio is also flat ground. Same with the full-size 520.

I like this one better....

Custom scale division is doing similar job. It is a company based in germany, try cuscadi on the web:D

I just picked up a black and green scaled version yesterday. I agree with others about the logo and extra branding on the blade, but that aside it's a great folder.

The blade is of substantial thickness and the sharpest Benchmade I've come across--mine was "even with usual handling care and habits, it still nicked me unexpectedly" sharp.

The steel liners are skeletonized, I believe the jimped backspacer is steel as well. Between the liners, backspacer, G-10 grips and thick blade, it's a substantial knife and feels very solid in all aspects with typical Benchmade lockup and relatively smooth operation. It's kind of like the Presidio and Griptilian had a kid, then the kid took steroids.

Personally, I like heavy folders and thick blades, different strokes and folks and all that and the Bone Collector fits my bill, silly logos and all.

Best,

heekma
