Benchmade Contego

BM810.jpg

Looks like Batman's knife.

We have a large number of these on order, so we should see a large enough shipment to fill all orders and have some leftovers when they ship.

I have been debating on this one myself. There are only a certain few Benchmade designs that appeal to me but I love my 710 and my 950 so I have a feeling I will like this one. I also have zero experience with the CPM-M4 steel.

Sounds great! I look forward to it. Is March when you are expecting them as well?

Hey rescue, I wouldn't say any faster, or any slower. I just started doing business with them several years ago and so I stayed!

For some reason, I like this knife. I'm really considering buying one, and if so it'll be my first Benchmade. We will see how it goes. Too bad there isn't any pictures of the satin plain edge version.

Yeah, another BM to get. It's going to be a nice, solid knife especially with a weight of 5.92 ounces. I'm also liking the fact that it has the thicker stock blade at .156". Here's the rest of the specs for this one;

I think I'm in Love with that knife!

I am liking the looks of this knife! Especially the CPM-M4 steel.

Does anyone know if the blade is the same "height" (from the cutting edge to the spine) as the Rift or more like the 940?

I am assuming it is more along the lines of the Rift but I thought someone here would be able to answer this question with more confidence.

The blade shape certainly looks more Rift like than 940ish. Not the very curved swedge, which the 940 lacks but is a big part of the Rift Blade shape.

Everyone keeps saying satin plain edge. But I think it was supposed to be their new "clear cerakote" coating, cuz BM doesnt really do the satin carbon steel thing (occasionally D2).

I would buy one if it was satin, but I dont think "clear cerakote" would do it for me, uglier than black coating with all the downsides of a coating and none of the benefits of satin.

Im willing to give it a shot, at least scratches wont show up as easy as black

This is the first time i've heard of this one and i really like it. Looks like a more ergonomic rift. And it gots teh m4 too! Looking forward to some rad reviews as well.

Just got off the phone with BM, said that they have been moving along faster than planned, and started shipping to dealers last week. I would guess only 1st production ones right now (which the lady told me were all going to be in the SBK configuration). I asked her when the plain-edge satin finished ones were expected and she said they were planning to have them out by april 18th and they are ahead of schedule.
