Benchmade cuts up guns now?

amazing how many leftest post here...when did that happen?

Anyways y'all do realize that a knife is a type of arm and is protected by the 2nd just like guns. Once guns are gone, or regulated into obscurity, what do you think the Dems will come after next? You all know the answer so don't be foolish.

Half the knives that these Liberal posters own here would land them in jail in England. Is that what y'all want here?
For the vast majority of Americans, when we talk about "arms" we recognize that we are talking about a very large gradient and we all eventually fall somewhere on it. (Apologies in advance for a bit of hyperbole here). Those "arms" range from 2" pen knives to nuclear weapons. In general, people tend to draw the line somewhere involving bullets. Some are cool with the current limitations on fully automatic machine guns, others would like that repealed. Others look at magazine capacity while the opposite camps sees that as gross infringement. Some would be cool with much larger "arms" like explosives and RPGs being legalized, while a majority of Americans think that is ludicrous. I am guessing that most of us here have no problem with almost any knife we can think of as an "arm" while others freak out about silly stuff like balisongs. I think limiting knives in places like schools makes sense, others think that makes us a nanny state.

My point is that if you look at the broad definition of arms as you are suggesting we do, then there is usually a line somewhere that we can conceded. If you are a fully fledge 2A to limit means whatever weapon you can get your hands on, I am curious if your view would change if a muslim immigrant from Syria wanted to own an RPG.

Point is, guns have never been a black and white issue. It has always been grey. We aren't argueing pro or anti weapons, we are just debating on where we draw that line.

I urge you guys to remember that opposition to guns is not an inherently liberal position. There was a major shift through the eighties but remember that NFA, GCA, and FOPA were pushed by conservative right wing politicians.

That means there can be, and in fact are, pro-gun liberals.

You aren’t going to change any minds by talking shit and attacking people on the basis of their overall political lean. Remember that for every poster like mylest there’s a hundred lurkers who don’t post and their opinions are informed by what they read. Give people like mylest a platform, let them talk, handle their arguments maturely, and let them embarrass themselves if they want to. Even if you don’t change the poster’s mind you’re sure to change a reader’s.

I have only 1 BM on my wish list and it is still there and I will still probably get it but the problem I have with BM is that there are some many reports of QC issues. I have no problem with the destruction of firearms as there are many varied reasons for this and a reason was given as well this was done in conjunction with law enforcement and providing assistance to them. Now the political donation details is concerning but I haven't dug too deep into it to make much judgment on it but I can see where that would be an issue for people and a cause, in additional to their QC issues, for a personal boycott of their products.

Also first half dozen pages or so of this thread were very funny with the outrage over the initial posts contents.

Knives are just as grey.

I can use your exact same arguments to limit blade length and assisted opening knives. If you truly think that Dems won't try to regulate knives after killing guns by "death by a thousand cuts" then I have nothing to say to you.

You mean like NYC?

Man I should’ve known I’d run into a brigade of right wing idiots on a knife forum.

Well no civilian needs any AR platform, useless for hunting, overkill for self defense, (to be honest I’ve no idea how to solve that. No buyback would get all of them and confiscating isn’t going to work either), age needs to be 21 to purchase a firearm, it should have to be registered, background checks required no exceptions, and training should certainly be required as well. That’d be a nice start. Shotguns, handguns, hunting rifles all have some purpose other than firing dozens of rounds in seconds.

I wasn't interested in getting any more ZT's but that has changed now. I just received a 940-2 from Knifecenter. It will be my last Benchmade if they do not explain themselves.

Preach it brother!
I'm pro- gun, pro-life, pro-Trump and now anti- Bitchmade..
I’m the first three always and becoming the last rather quickly. I was hoping Benchmade would show up and explain everything and make me feel better but apparently they have no explanation....

In all seriousness if Benchmade really wanted to to fix all this, I'd like to see a check wrote to the NRA for same amount of money that was given to the democrats. Think it was something like 36k . They took advantage of us hunters, sportsman. We bought there knives in good faith and they take our money and give it to the ones trying to take our freedom away
