So, I was looking around and saw a limited run BM Mini Grip and was wondering about what others have to say about it. I like the blade (steel choice, DLC coating, and convex edge) and the titanium handle, but not the G10 inlay so much. Here's a link to Benchamade's website

Wow. I hope benchmade goes out of business. That's an absolutely ridiculous price for what is really just a jazzed up 50 dollar knife. Freaking ridiculous. The fact that a ZT 0600 sells for half that should tell everything that needs to be said. I'm actually astonished by that price.

I guarantee that there will be reports from a handful of owners about uneven grinds and off-centered blades. Not trying to stir up trouble, but it's just a reality with Benchmade regardless of the price point. And for the record, I own a bunch of Benchmades and am a diehard fan, but have become really disenchanted as of late with their hit or miss QC. That being said, this should be 1/2 the price based on materials and similar comps.

$70 seems a fair price for the standard Mini-Griptilian, and maybe double that for the limited edition, so $150-ish.

I think this is a step in the right direction for Gold Class Offerings, but I've pretty much boycotted BM since their enforced dealer pricing. Thankfully with ZT and Spyderco and others offering such quality knives at realistic prices; I don't mind one bit.

Yep. Benchmade's revised MAAP policy should be the final nail in the Gold Class Mini-Grip's coffin, all right.

Looks awesome but retail price: $650

I want to buy and love Benchmade but their pricing is kind of steep.

Wow, you could nearly get two small Sebenza's for that. I'll keep my $70 Grip but I will bypass the newer $100+ Grips and probably all other models in the BM lineup.

I really like the Mini Grips I have, especially my Ritter, but overall BM doesn't do much for my style wise anymore. Add in the whole MAP fiasco and now this $650 price tag and all I can wonder is if this is someone's idea of a joke. I'll stick with my Spydercos and now ZT which has replaced BM as my other main brand of choice.
If BM's ultimate goal is to lose customers, I think they're right on track, but hey what do I know.

I hear you. I'll stick to Spydys and ZT myself.

Part of me wants to keep buying BM. Even a couple Gold Class knives that are sky high in price still have my attention. But another part of me is still rubbed the wrong way about their MAAP policy. I'm more interested in other knife companies now.

But I'm not gonna lie. That GC Grip looks great. Everything about it looks awesome except the price.

Yes it is both nice and crazy expensive. Considering you can buy a number of different full custom knives for the same price.

That's the thing. The GC BMs are nice - but they're just nice production or at best semi-production knives. We're not talking Sebenza quality standards.
