Benchmade Griptillian worth it?

Well there aren't really any other Benchmade knives in that price range.

To me, it depends on if you are getting it for the old discounted price or the new price. Also it depends on if the FRN type handles bother you.

For the price range of Benchmade I do think the grip is the best of Benchmade in that price range. It is the least expensive Benchmade and it is a great knife, proven by many people of years of experience. Great knife, fairly basic, but meant for use.

I don't know about the best, but it's a darn good knife. Their s30v models are great!

Unless you need extreme light weight and thinness, yes. It is overpriced, but it is a very nice knife.

If you want a hole opener get a 555 mini-grip but if your just going to get a knife with thumb studs go for the 707 Sequel, you won't be sorry.

Great value at the previous price. Less so now. Hard for me to reconcile paying for it now when it cost drastically less a few weeks ago. Not that it's not worth the money, it's just something I can't get past.

I have the mini grip 555 that I find to be just a good knife. I had a Spyderco Delica 4 which has a very quality feel but narrow and I just liked the feel of the 555. I also had a really nice H&K by benchmade similar sized to the 555. It felt a lot more solid but something about the 555 says this is all you need.

A full size grip would be great too.

The Mini Griptilian starts at $85, and is the better size for pocket carry. So that's the best value, and probably worth it.

Wish I could recall what I paid for the full size 551 a couple of years ago. Maybe $70? Pretty good knife for that price.

I've got a Grip and a mini and between the two I prefer the mini. It's probably one of the smoothest actions of any knife I own. I like the full size Grip but it feels too thick and bulky in the pocket for comfortable carry. Even my bigger knives such as the Para2 and BM 710 seem easier to EDC.

I just saw one in person today for the first time today and I would say they're worth it.

I'm sure the mini carries smaller, but I don't mind carrying my full-size at all. I even carry it clipped with basketball shorts, and don't really notice it.

I've always thought the full sized Griptilians should come with a sheath. :)

I thinks its worth it if you get it for under $100, but its also a little overpriced. I bought mine for $87 its a black/od green full size grip and I have gotten much use and enjoyment out of it so thats why it is worth it to me, if you want one then pick one up for sure, cant go wrong with it.

I've gotten mine in the 50 buck range lightly used off of the forum here.Great knives both sizes.I don't care for the tanto blade profile though.
