Benchmade Griptillian worth it?

i have a large grip with a sheepsfoot blade and another mini doug ritter grip and both are awesome! If your patient you can usually find a really good price in the for sale section to test one out. You'll most likely love it and want more!

Great work knife but with the new Benchmade pricing policy, a little expensive.

ive had mine for about 5 or 6 years i think and i still love it. It was my first knife and after all these years i still carry it and it always is up to any task.

It´s a great knife. I used mine for duty for more than five years and it never let me down. In Germany it comes for about 100 €, that are about 130 US-$. I bought it with the intention as a knife for duty and it was great. I retired it about one year ago and replaced it with a PM2. But the Gripi is a plain great knife.

Full size or the Mini Grip are great knives. No BLING but a good working knife. Spyderco Endura or Delica will do the same thing for a little less and they are slim compared to the Grips. Take your pick.

Since Benchmade's recent 30% price increase, imho the Para2 would be a much better option for the price.

They're pretty nice knives, but overpriced. I like my Ontario Rat 2 better than my mini grip, although the steel isn't as good if that matters to you. And I think the Spyderco Delica beats them both.

I've own a Doug Ritter Griptilion and EDC'ed it every day for about 2 years. Great knife and it was my first in the S30V steel. Currently carrying a Spyderco Yojimbo 2 but I still use my Grip when I want a full size but lighter knife.

I do not like how it carries: it indeed feels a bit bulky for its size. Mini on another hand is an excellent EDC.
Probably would not buy it now though: there are too many attractive value alternatives out there!

I really like mine. I have had it nearly two years and outside of an 18 year old Buck hunting knife, it was my first "quality" knife. I paid about $70 delivered for mine and it seems they are pushing nearly $100 these days and I question if I would buy it again at that price with the quality of Spyderco's for much less. When my Delica gets here, my Grip might be retired but I won't part with it.

I would handle both the Grip and the mini to see which you prefer. Seems some think the Grip is a little bulky, while others, like me, cant quite manage a full 4-finger hand grip even on the full-size. I would not be able to use a mini like I do the full, but your results might be different.

5 or 6 years ago they were like half their current price, though :p

I think this has been covered before the Grip is a great knife some say bulky others say hand filling. Most people agree the scales feel good in hand as far as ergos but also feel "cheap" because of the short liners and type of plastic. I suggest the large bone collector in D2 with G-10 or Wood for around $100 a great knife but heavy for some. The old Benchmade prices have always been a little high but now....

I have a grip and I love it. I've had it a couple years and couldn't be happier. I got it for $125 with tax. The axis lock is my favorite of any that I've tried.

It's a good knife, as others have said, I just couldn't get past the material that make up the scales, just didn't feel comfortable to me personally. Switched to PM2, no regrets at all, handles everything I throw at it and the scales/grip design are much more comfortable. However, the Grip is a great knife for EDC, so it's just personal preference really.

The Grip costs a full 1/3 more than an Endura due to Benchmade's "minimum advertised price" policy, which is the main reason I don't already have one.

Go for it, had one over 10 years great workhorse, any problems BM will take of you. Excellent service like Spyderco, never had a problem with both. Gary

I bought my Mini Grip for around $70 and it is one of my favorite knives. And the axis lock is awesome :)
