Benchmade Mini or full size Griptilian?

I used to think the same thing so I bought a Benchmade Volli.

Hmmm... I'll have to take a better look at that knife. I never really looked into it because I'm not a big fan of the look of the handles. How do you like your Volli in comparison to your Grips, if you have any?

I love the looks and feel of the handle. The G10 feels completely different and much more solid than the Grip. The blade is a great slicer and seems thinner than my 551. S30v steel too. However, if I had to do it again, I would consider a Ritter Grip with after market scales instead of my 551 Grip and Volli.

The one thing I don't like about the Volli is that it's assisted. I called Benchmade about that and they offered to remove the spring if I ship them the knife. How do you feel about assisted knives?

The first I bought was a mini. Perfect pocket size and good general edc use. Then I bought the large because the handle of the mini just felt too small in time. Now having both I honestly feel the larger one is the way to go unless local laws etc prohibit its larger blade size.

I have several Mini Grips, Like them and they are even better with some after market grips. Seem to be more hand filling. However, I prefer a BM 585 over the Mini, better blade grind, more like a full flat grind almost and the grip is a little more robust. Just my 2 cents which is not worth a lot. The 585 is a great EDC after that darn assist spring is removed.

I have XL hands and bought the full size first but thought it was a little large for daily cutting tasks so I sold it and bought the Mini instead. Its perfect.
The Delica is my favorite knife but since I got the Mini I have carried it almost as nuch and find myself wanting to carry ut when I'm not.
The Mini has a smaller OAL than the Delica but you get a longer blade. It also has more blade options.

I have a few of the full size grips and I love em. Perfect edc IMO. Never handled a mini but personally I wouldn’t want anything smaller

I have both the full size and the mini. As an edc, I carry more the mini though. Somehouse the mini easier to carry than the full size. As for the blade style, my preference would be the modified sheepsfoot.

Two year dead thread necro, but I’ll play.

Full size. It’s plenty light, carries easily, affords a very comfortable and surprisingly palm-filling, four finger grip. The mini is a great size for taking in a time machine to fourth grade me.

I have larger than average hands and have carried a mini for almost 2 years now. I never felt like it was too small in handle or in blade length.

Are you able to get a four finger grip on the mini? Or, are you unable but not bothered by that?

I really like the thin blade stock of the mini, but a three finger grip makes me crazy in extended use.

I have both and I preffer the mini. Maybe it is also for the type of blade (sheepsfoot 555 with yellow scales) and opening method (hole in blade instead of thumbstud). I rarely carry the full size, and it is not about the size, because I carry a full size Crocked River often...

I have glove 8 size hands and I don't miss any more handle.
