Benchmade Nimravus

I really like my m2 Nimravus w/G10, but hate the case. It's too bulky and the lock is worthless.

Mr. Wilson,
I read a post in a thread somewhere that a guy filed down the notches on the blade spine, and the thumblock actually "locked" after that. He was saying that he was careful and didn't remove too much metal but the spine above the notches, as it comes from BM, prevents the lock from closing completely.

I have the same problem with mine, IF it is a problem. I live with it. I'm not ready to file down the spine.

I love my D2 nimvravus I have an old 154cm model that has given years of service. Since I have had the new model I can definitely tell an improvement. I for one do prefer the aluminum handles I think they grip better in gloves.

I just got one of the new Nimravus's (Nimravii?) today and I have to say that so far I'm impressed. One of my few beefs with the G-10 model was that it felt a little light to me, so I like the new Aluminum handles. I think aluminum has a relatively high heat transference rate, so I think they would be a little worse in cold weather with bare hands, but they do feel a lot "grippier" than the G-10 version. Unfortunately I don't have a G-10 one anymore to compare this with, but I do have a blackwater gear variant on order, and will do a mini-comparison once it arrives. Regarding the new sheath I like it a lot better than the old one, except for the belt attachment point. You have the option of a velcro loop, or a plastic retainer on the back, which I find is a real pain to open. You can see the texture of the handles in the pictures.
