Benchmade or Kershaw whats your pick?

Benchmade has a lot of really interesting knives coming out or have just come out. I'm glad they are moving away from the everything has to 154cm with FRN or aluminum scales method.

I still prefer ZT/Kershaw to them though. Mainly because I am a flipper fan and no one is doing them as much or as well as KAI.

If you like Assisted Opening knives or Flippers, then Kershaw and ZT are the best. Their AOs are faster than fast.

The Blur got me hooked on Kershaw. Moving the thumbstud until the AO takes over and snaps the blade open is very fun. :D The "thwak" of the blade locking open is just too cool.

Obviously Kershaw offers products that Benchmade isn't competing against. For cheaper knives Kershaw wins by default. For knives at the same price, it comes down to preference. Benchmades seem to have the nicest finishing and aesthetic design of the three big contenders, and Spydercos are the best slicers and utilitarian blades. Kershaw falls somewhere in between the two, in my experience, and adds in the best value and customer service. I own more Kershaws than any other brand, but there are plenty of Spydercos and Benchmades that have no comparison in Kershaw's lineup. It's not so much which company is the best, since all 3 are competitive, as much as which models are particularly good.

The Blur was my first Kershaw. The Mini-barrage was my first Benchmade.

I know own about 10 Kershaws and that mini-barrage is still my only Benchmade.

I was eyeballing the Adamas and the Megumi for a while but then I got a ZT 0560 and the William Henry to cover the HD folder/gents knife respectively.

I'm still interested in the Megumi though. I would love to find a Dejavoo one day too.

The kershaw leek is a outstanding knife for the price. I have owned a few of them always impressed. Benchmade always impressed as well. Although one of the most impressive folders I have ever seen or used or even owned is my $5 Sheffield folder.

Cold Steel and Spyderco are my favorite folder brands, there is a Benchmade or two I want to get sometime in the near future though. I wouldn't mind another Kershaw flipper if they came up with one using a different lock mechanism other than framelock or linerlock. Thought my OD-1 was a very cool knife and the design would be great as a larger 4" blade folder.

This is the correct answer, IMO.

I think there is a lot to be said for this answer about personal likes and dislikes. For me I have found that for the brands I purchase the most there are some models I like and some I really don't like at all.

It came today! Now im officially a Benchmade owner! Thanks to everyone who's. Answered my thread! My 1st Benchmade is the Adamas Auto & absolutely love it! As for my favorite knife its still hard to chose between my ZT301 & the Adamas i just got! To bad these 2 knifes couldnt get together & have a baby because there is certain things i like more on one than the other! Regardless they are both great knives.
